    Mother

    He didn't like the casserole
And he didn't like my cake.
He said my biscuits were too hard...
Not like his mother used to make.
I didn't perk the coffee right
    He didn't like the stew,
    I didn't mend his socks
The way his mother used to do.
    I pondered for an answer
I was looking for a clue.
Then I turned around and smacked him
The way his mother used to do.
What St. Frances of Assisi said of himself is true for me.
?If God can work through me He can work through anybody.?

I can relate to this...my current husband is always saying to me "my Mom taught me to do it like this"..."this is the way you do it, my Mom showed me this way"...blah blah blah...I make jokes of it, and tease him and laugh it off because I love his Mom. I can't help but feel sorry for the guy to be so attached to his Ma's teachings....It's kind of comical.
