Network, it's still a great country in many ways. And, what you see on TV is not what life is like for most of us. But, we do have many problems to be sure -- the worst of which IMHO is that we are owned by big corporations. Really, regarding totalitarianism, we are still very egalitarian. I worry, though, about Sarah Palin and the likes of her - she scares the hell out of me in her simplistic, narrow view of the world.
