Hi everyone I am new at this so forgive me if I go on a bit.I am 34 female living in the UK originally from South Africa. It has taken me a while to realize that I have a problem. What brought things to ahead was the black outs this has been going on for sometime.Last week my husband and I had a barbeque for some reason I locked him out and threw the blanket outside.I let him in after 2 hours. The thing is we where having a pleasant evening so not sure what happened.I have no recollection of this. But the thing that hurt the most is that I rang my baby brother and said some nasty things to him.He now refuses to speak to me and it hurts so much.My husband has been very supportive but he said I am getting out of control.I am waiting for my book and cd's to arrive.I feel like I am loosing control and that's very scary. -

Hi Mushy, You have done the right thing by coming here. I am from UK too, and got into quite a bit of a state as you have. I have read the book which is really inspirational, read these boards and have now received the CDs which as far as I am concerned are great. I am sure the hynotism one has worked already. A month ago I was drinking at least a bottle of gin a night, loosing my rag about anything and everything. I have now been on abstination for 21 days and feel great. It is realy good to get up in the morning and remember what you did last night. It is great to know now, that I am going to go to bed in about an hour, get a good nights sleep, listening to the sleep tape and wake up refreshed in the morning ready for work, and knowing that when I get there my mind will be clear and I will NOT smell of alcohol. Good luck with it. You will find some lovely people on this site. It may be good for you to go into the NEW people starting up site and start a new thread on there as the people who are looking to help you probably look on there as opposed to general discussion. Become a member, its free and then you can talk online in the chat room. Hope to speak to you soon

hi mushy- I'm new too and probably very similar to you, it's awful to think you've upset everyone with drinking. I am going to order the book and cd's but i'm just trying to get through tonight for now--there is a bottle of wine in the fridge which to be fair i'm not overly craving because i feel too hungover and i know i'd hate myself..but i reckon the craving will kick in big time cyber hugs and good luck ((())))

Hi Mushypeas,
Well I must say, that is a pretty interesting name. I look forward to finding out all about it! So glad to hear you have ordered the book and cds. You will be on your way soon. Actually, you already are on your way by finding this site!
I know you are scared, and I am sorry your brother is not speaking with you. It is hard when things get so out control. There is a great amount of support here for you, and this program is nothing short of a miracle with your willpower to to back it up of course!
Welcome to MWO and best of luck to you as you get on started!

Welcome Mushypeas and all the other newbies!
So glad you are joining us!
Mushypeas, it's great you have a supportive husband. It helps soooo much! Does he know about this program yet, or are you doing it privately to start? People do it both ways--sometimes telling their spouses, sometimes not. Completely up to you and what you feel is right.
Your brother will come around when he sees the positive changes. (he BETTER!!) Hey, we've been there with the things we've done and said while drinking that we want to take back, but it's simply not possible, obviously, so it's time to move on and better ourselves, striving to eliminate these moments from our futures!
Best of luck to you and to all the newbies. Stick around!!!

Hey Mushypeas and all the newbies,
Welcome aboard! It is great that you recognize you need help. That is the first step, this is a great place to come for support and help.
Gersaki, maybe you should throw the bottle of wine away while you are still hungover and not craving it. Try the supps - the work wonders towards cravings.
Come back and good luck tonight!
Mary
