      To be honest, IAD, it gets worse. He had three other kids to two other wives before ours and he's never bothered with them either.... I know, I should have known better but I thought I was different! yeah right.

      So, he's fathered 5 children and hasn't contributed to thier lives in any way, financially or emotionally. I feel for all of them, not just my two.

      But I mean it, it always surprises me when dad's really care and do things for their kids. (my dad wasn't the best dad either)
      It always seems impossible until it's done....

        Really appreciate what you say, that sometimes absent father really does mean absent in every respect. My kid`s dad hasn`t seen his kid for 8 yrs. either...........just goes to prove that they never deserved to have kids in the first place!!!

          If I father a child ! It's my responesability ! My father was a (unmarried child). He has allways felt less than a person because of it ! But my father was the best father that ever lived! He was a father to all my cousins ! I can remmber, Alli my family always came to him for his for advice. MY father was the best 1!!!! He died 1996 burided Arliington National Cem,.........IAD

            I think it's made me a much better mother. Having had to be "both" parents, I have lavished an enormous amount of love and guidence on them both and they are both wonderful young women that I am very, very proud of.

            IAD, I wish I'd found someone like you 20 years ago.
