Hi gang. I can't figure out this disappearing post business--I'm the only one with authority to remove messages. I rarely do so and those of you who follow the action around here usually know when that happens and why.

The only posts that should be vanishing lately (well not really) are ones from several months ago in the General Discussion forum...the board is growing so fast, we haven't been archiving quickly enough to capture older messages. Ironically, we were just coming up with an outsource solution to save all that stuff at the same time traffic on the board exploded, and new posts have "pushed" pre-April messages right off a cliff.

In the past couple of days I've been trying to archive April post (you'll see a "holding tank" at the very bottom of the forum list called Archives until I get this all worked out. I really believe this history is helpful for newbies to read. So when I read this today I wondered if perhaps I 'moved' some messages instead of 'copied' them when mucking through this--it would have been yesterday only--and if that would have explained the missing messages you referred to. But I don't think so; in that case, it would have grabbed a fistfull of posts.

So I'm in a bit of a quandary about the evaporating messages. Like I said, no one but me has admin privs, I simply haven't given 'em out. And I don't believe we're being hacked--I'm sure there's another explanation. Although it would be sorta fun to have a ghost.

I'll see if I can figure it out.

I see both but clearly there seems to be an issue here.

I seem to remember hearing that EZBoard was moving to a new platform and am wondering if this is causing messages to drop for some users? Please let me know as I continue to trouble shoot. Thanks.
