I'd love to come to Houston, Hottrod. Is it true that EVERYTHING is bigger and better in Texas????!!!

PS Great to hear you sounding so great Hilary!!

Well lots of things are bigger and some things are better (I'm not a Texas native), but some things are bigger and badder too. If you are going to visit Texas don't visit Houston. Go to Austin, or San Antonio. The only thing we like about Houston is that since it is such a large city, we get great concerts and shows here, but the down side is that we just don't feel safe. You can't put a price on that.
We are only here until DH retires, then back to Austin.

Don't forget me!!! Canberra is Australia's national capital city!! (the white house of Australia is here).... and I AM going to see Tawny soon, she's only a couple of hours away....so there! read it and weep!

BUT - I AM going to go to America in the next ten years or so and I WILL be looking everybody up and asking for free accomodation! I want to ride my motorbike across the US, so quite an adventure for a middle aged aussie girl!!
It always seems impossible until it's done....

I'm sorry, but Rotrod is right, Houston is the butthole of the universe. I'm farther north. Little town in TX near Ft. Worth. Anyone??

My boyfriends ex sister in law keeps wanting us to trade with her for a week or two every winter she lives in Arizona. We keep telling her we like room service when on vacation but she keeps asking and bugging us, truth is she is weird and her house is weird.

Also flip that is the funniest thing I cannot stop laughing!!!!!

How about a small old house on a peaceful bay, surrounded by madrona, maple and cedar trees... you may walk down the 75 steps to sunbathe on the dock, walk on the beach when the tide is out. Take the kayak out and explore Puget Sound.... Come back up to the house and watch the sun set over the trees across the bay as you sip iced tea... don't even bother going to the bedroom when you tire... snuggle up on the futon there on the deck, it's covered. Sometimes you'll hear the seals splashing in the night, once in awhile they snore and even fart as they slumber on the dock below, but aside from that it just may be the most restful night sleep ever. No need to worry about oversleeping, as the myriad of birds, including baby eagles, will wake you early enough to see the most absolute gorgeous early morning light you have ever seen...

Wow... I really have it made.... nevermind, I'm not giving this place up for one minute!!!
                      LOL!!!
                      Hugs,

Ima, that sounds so beautiful and you describe it like a novelist. Let's send someone to Jersey for heaven's sakes and see what happened to the Soprano's.

Funny - I just remembered when I first moved into this house (I rent it). It was May two summers ago. I sat on the deck every night late, just sitting there drinking wine (of course) and I'd hear the STRANGEST sounds... grunting, human-like yet so animalistic, from some large creature it seemed. The sounds came from below... the beach, I figured. Sometimes I also heard rustling in the brush. FREAKED me out. There I was, usually sloshed, listening to this, and finally had convinced myself that Sasquatch lived on the shores of this bay!!!

LOL!! Finally I figured out it was the seals snorting and such, and rustling in the bushes was raccoons.
                                :H
