hey guys-update
ok. im a hundred percent sure that being off of zoloft has helped my learn when to slow down drinking, when to stop, less, etc. i still have a problem, but right now i fit more into the category of a typical 25 year old who goes out and gets drunk about twice a week. i went out last night with my bf, and actually didnt really like it when i was drunk. we were drinking awhile. what i did, and what ive NEVER done, is when i was drunk we were at a bar and instead of getting alcohol, i got water. my bf and i got into a yelling fight when we got home which wasnt good. and it sux cuz he thinks oh there she goes again being drunk. he was drinking even more than me though. he drinks everyday, and that also does not help my trying to get away from alcohol more. ok guys so i wanted to update u. i am soo sure that being off zoloft has helped me with the drinking problems!! before its like i couldnt function. i would get drunk, i would never remember what happened after a certain point, and my friends would tell me the next day "oh u passed out in the car, etc" im very proud of myself. i also ordered the kudzu and l-tyrosene for depression. anyone take l-tyrosene? just curious. ok guys, good luck and ill talk later.Tags: None

Sounds like a step in the right direction, me. It will be good to see how the kudzu helps--remember to take enough of it though! Also maybe you might want to look into L-glutamine. It really helps with cravings (for alcohol and food!). Take 1000mg 3X a day.
Good luck!

Hi, I agree with Youngatheart, you sound like you are going in the right direction. Well done on ordering that water at least once during the night. If you could work it up to be in between drinks (one alcoholic, one water) then that would be great and another step towards cutting down or stopping (whatever your goal is).
It is difficult to cut down while you have a partner that is still getting pissed regularily. But, if you can't talk to him and make him see common sense, then just look after yourself.
Sounds like going off the Zoloft may have helped you to be a little more aware of what you are feeling and thinking etc.
Take care and keep well

That is really good, slowing down the drinking is a step in the right direction.
Sorry, can't help with the anti-depression drug though,
good luckI feel as though it's all happening to someone right next to me.
I'm close, I can feel it, I can hear it, but it isn't really me.

yes, yes, YES on the Zoloft-- that stuff made me crazy, paranoid, everything bad, and no i did not stop drinking after cutting it but definitely got a better grip. ..so good you are on the right track... now you can work on cutting down. i have cut WAY down since i cut that Zoloft stuff, and gone AF for many weeks at a time. I've also heard about the l-tyrosene but not tried it. why don't you try it and let us know?Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life... I was off of soloft & it did'nt make much difference with my drinking . Matter of fact I drank more. It all dipensence on what your peoblem is. Thier's no cure all for all problems . See your Doctor for facts. IAD.?Be who you are and say what you feel because
those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.?

hey guys. thanks for the replies. yeah, i know i still have an alcohol problem, but it was just worse on the zoloft. i still have a problem though, and i am sure of that. however, being on the zoloft it was almost impossible for me to stop once i started. the other night ordering that water at the bar when i was to drunk was another thing that helped, and made me realize that i can control it better off the zoloft. but believe me, i still know theres a problem there. both sides of my family are alcoholics! its there. so , i ordred the kudzu and take l glutamine, yes, to answer your question. i recently moved and comps are all down, so i have not ordered the bookk yet but look forward to ordering it. this past week, even though i feel better "controlling it" i drank like four times, maybe five days. so so that disapointed me, because the more you drink, the mroe your body gets used to it it seems. anyway, u guys are great. im so glad i found this board. i didnt know who else could relate or who else i could talk to this stuff about that would understand because they too are going through the same problem. i will let you guys know how KuDzu and L-Tyorsene help, tyrosene for the depression. supposedly that and tryptophan are in some people as good as antidepressants. and after i see how much better i do with my drinking of the zoloft, i do not want to go back on it. i still feel sad everyday though. im never really happy. unless its a saturday and i have the night to go out and drink with my friends .. lol...err
ok guys, ttyl! ill update you on the meds.
