    Exercise Thread Day 3

Hi everyone and a big hello to all those who responded yesterday... well done! You have inspired me some more.

Am going to walk down the shops today. That's about a 30 min walk and if i am not called into work, will do another 50 mins.

Imatree, got you out! Well done.

Muchthought, i wish i had hills. We've got some around here, but they're urban hills. What is a dance dance revolution? And also, i don't know how to use the Drink Tracker either. Would somebody care to elaborate? Btw, Ju Jitsu is some kind of martial art. I'm not sure what it focuses on though.

Don, you did the run! And push-ups / sit-ups... now you are putting me to shame.

Soccermom... go the treadmill! Of course it's okay to jump on in here... that's what we're here for I think anybody who can survive >5 mins on the Stairclimber deserves an award.

Well, keep up the good work folks. And for those who haven't yet embarked on the exercise journey, keep reading. You never know how we might inspire you :l

    Weird.

      I'm up early!

No, seriously, i live in Australia, so the time differences are mad. Uhm, i am not sure what to do about this problem... Just ignore it and pretend it is day 2!

        Exercise Thread Day 3

Back to the gym this morning. I have a new trainer and the stuff he has me doing now is fun, but leaves me SORE!! :upset: I haven't been sore from weights in a long time. But I'm doing it! I worked late in my office tonight so didn't ride my bike - I'll do that tomorrow.
Rest in Peace, Bear. We miss you.

Well, i am very sorry to report that i couldn't do my 1/2 walk... but i am however going to work today, which means i will be on my feet for 8 hours. Yesterday i broke into a light sweat, that's how much they work you sometimes.

So, i am hopeful that i will get some exercise. As for tomorrow, i've got the usual 50 min walk planned, as high priority.

Just a suggestion.... maybe you should put the dates on the threads Change then we will know which to post on for those of us on different time zones ?

Monday 13th August - I did my 20 minutes step in the morning, felt really depressed in the afternoon/evening - no one to talk to, two of my close friends didn't email me either, so I did about another 2 hours step in the evening in total, must be why I am tired today
(14th August), but onwards and upwards. I have my family and my husband is seeming to be doing a 'turnaround' after seeing how upset I was yesterday and he has been more supportive last night and today.

Sorry to hijack the thread onto my problems - but it was my best friends birthday yesterday - she would have been 45, she died suddenly 3 years ago - only 12 days after my birthday, she was like a sister to me , closer than a real sister, we practically lived in each others houses and would have definitely been friends for life, one of those rare soul mates. She left two young children aged 5 and 7 (then) and a 15 year old. I really miss her. My drinking definitely worsened after this, even though I know she wouldn't have been happy with me, although we did imbibe together she kept my levels down !

14/08/07 - I am off now to do more step !! Wish me luck, I could do up to 1 hour straight today!

Thanks to those who have pm and email me yesterday and today, you made me feel better too.

            Diamond xx
I feel as though it's all happening to someone right next to me.
I'm close, I can feel it, I can hear it, but it isn't really me.

                Hi Diamond,

Don't worry about 'hijacking' the thread. I didn't see it as that. I know what you mean about your drinking worsening after a close somebody died. The same happened to me.

But, anyhow, onwards and upwards. Like you, this person would definately have wanted me to continue down the path i had been on. But, now it is up to me. In some ways, i am all alone, but 'oh well'. There are others in far worse conditions than me, so i try to remain positive.

But, i am not robbing you of your grief. It really does get better with time. And the anniversaries are the worst.

Anyway, getting back to the thread, that's a great idea about the date. Time zone wise i think i am one day ahead of everyone else, so by the time everybody gets up to see the thread, it will be late in the day (for me), which works out perfectly!

                So, it's 14th August today.

I will see you all on the 15th

PS. They worked me hard at work tonight, it was like a 'workout'!

Sorry you're feeling down, Diamond. Exercise is supposed to be one of the best ways of lifting the spirits, so lets hope it works for us all on our dark days.
I haven't exactly hit the ground running - only did half an hour in the gym this morning, then half an hour walk. Must try harder.
I'm glad you're in the 'first' time zone, Change - it's good to get some motivation in the morning (even if I don't necessarily act on it )

PS The mirrors in the gym are harsh!

                    NOt so hot

Diamond I am sorry you feel bad and hope all the stepping and friends turned you around.

Well, I walked for an hour yesterday but did not make it through day 3 which is depressing but I'll just get up and do it again. I haven't tried to stop drinking for a few years, so I'm not going to beat myself up too much.

HOpe you all have a great day!!! I'm going shopping!! That's exercise, ain't it? Much

                          Exercise Thread Day 3

I think this is a great thread, Change. Talking about exercise lets us talk about so much more. Diamond, I am so sorry for the loss of your friend. I also have one very special friend (who is totally nuts, but I love her so much) who understands me in a way no one else can. I can't pretend to understand your loss, but let me say, I am sorry for it.

Today, I had to spend the whole day running around doing stupid but necessary errands. I didn't get to the gym. This afternoon it was 92 degrees Farenheit. I said to myself, I can go for a bike ride, or I can go swimming at my best friend's spot. So I went swimming! Call me lazy! But it was beautiful - and with the very strong currents there, it is not always a walk in the park.

I think everyone here is doing great!! What a wonderful group of people.
                          :h

Hello and I echo everybodys enthusiasm (sp) ... Today I got my repaired belt for my eliptical back from the mennonites. I think it will last until I'm 83 because they used nylon harnessing for it..:H ha ha and would only take $ 4.00 ... They are amazing people !!!
So, I spent 30 minutes between my bike and my eliptica and then did my legs on my bowflex plus some abdominals on the floor... Gonna feel those I'm afraid... ! We are all doing so well !!! Last night I slept like a baby and tonight I will again.... Change this is alot of fun ! See everybody tomorrow ! Hugs ,:l
