I was reading some post and saw someone got expeled from the site. Not that is my goal I just want to make shure I don't do the same! Being here is a huge help for me. You are all so much help in getting my thoughts together!!!

Some others may correct me if they think I am wrong. The number one and really the only rule here is that we all respect one another and our goal here is always to help one another. That does not mean we are not honest - sometimes brutally so. But always in the spirit of help and true caring. We also get very funny, silly, even some dirty jokes, that's OK. Some people do post here while drunk - we all know that. That's OK also. It is often better to post here than to have another drink. We've all been there, done that, so that is not a problem.

On rare occasions in the past (including the recent past) some people have come on here and posted material that was hateful and hurtful to some members. Remember anyone who wants to can sign up for membership. It is very important that MWO remains a safe place for us to come where we can be honest and share our feelings without fear of being ridiculed or put down. It is a place for laughing, sharing, and healing, not for hurting. When someone doesn't understand that and hurts others, they may be booted off. RJ has terrific judgement and will do this to preserve the safety we have here. We are all grateful to her when she does it.

You guys are great - you are not the kind who have to worry. We love having you here. You are not going to get booted off, believe me. Just be your wonderful honest selves. You are part of the family already.

You said it great Mags. You know we are just slice of people in the world and we have all kind of people here.

I think the problem has been that there are some people who need help who are rude crude, and socially unacceptable. I am definately willing to work with these people to help them get sober. It is something we still do because they need to have a chance like everyone else. No one who really wants help and ask for it is put off. But part of the process of getting sober is learning to care about your fellow man. Almost everyone here has realized the value of getting away from being self centered and becoming a person who truly cares about others in need. It is possible for the person who is needing help to be in fact, an PRICK; and that is just their personality. If a person is like that; when they get straight they are now just a sober PRICK. I still hope they can achieve the life they seek, but I personally do not want any part of their upsetting and deliberate hurting of others. I repeat, No one who really wants help and ask for it is put off. This is a world wide circle of friends helping friends; and people who genuinely care for each other. I am glad you are here and hope to hear a lot more from you all of you.

Everyone above said it just fine. As long as there is true respect and caring everyone is fine. The moment there is a sense that any one of the members is being attacked then people get upset, for very good reason. There have been times in the past where we have had members that have openly attacked other members and that is totally unacceptable here because that's not why we come here.

We are here to heal by whatever means it takes. Some of us by humor and some of us by the serious conversations, never by cruelty. So you all are fine. The boards have been great lately.

Given what I know about Rachel from her posts on here I can see how she would have caught in something that she may not have wanted to be involved in. The others invovled in that incident were cruel and nasty, something I've NEVER seen from Rachel. I also know that Rachel is a kind, loving person who I would welcome back with open arms.

Thank's to all. Didn't think I would screw up that bad just wanted to cover my bases. I still haven't figured out how I found you all was not looking for any thing like it just found my self on here reading the post! Still haven't been AF since I found you all but I know that time is comming soon. Don't think I could see that far without the feedback.

RJ here, site administrator. Thank you all for your comments and welcome, new members.

Please understand that no one is ever prevented from posting to this site without proper cause. In the case referenced here there is more than meets the eye and I can assure you that some of the conclusions stated above are inaccurate. I will not compromise anyone?s privacy by sharing the details publicly. Decisions about limiting member privileges are made with a heavy heart (mine). I am in touch with the individual referred to in this discussion; in fact yesterday provided guidance via email. As you?ve read, others are also offering support, too, and I?m pleased MWO has resulted in a helpful network of friends.

However, when the risk of participating in this forum begins to outweigh the benefit--to an individual member or the community at large--a call to action is sometimes required. The same is true when inappropriate behaviors take place on the part of members and is inconsistent with the goals of MWO. I?m not talking about drunk posting or getting caught up in the middle of someone else?s flame war.

I?ve had to make some very difficult decisions in the past about banning members or removing posting privs. It?s not always permanent but is sometimes necessary. Trust that I am privy to events taking place on the back end of which you are simply not aware. I respect very much the concern and compassion expressed here. I would simply ask that members respect my decision about these matters when they arise.

I welcome everyone?s involvement here and am grateful for it. As stated by others above, you needn?t worry about arbitrary decisions that would have you banned. We?re here to provide as much support as we possibly can and frankly, our policies are extremely liberal when it comes to posting. Some lines, however, must be drawn if we are to safeguard this community and the remarkable individuals who consider it an important part of their recovery.
