Awh that was sweet Breez - congrats again Pops - I've got three grandkids now, they are wonderful and they don't make you old, they give you the excuse to act like a wean all over again! Not that I ever needed an excuse actually!

Congrats Popeye! I just became a Grannie myself last month! A GREAT EXPERIENCE to say the least. I look forward to every day my Grand daughter gets older so I can teach her things that Grandma's only have time for. Like baking etc.

Congratulations Popeye!!!! That's wonderful news.

I'm not quite 50 yet either and became a granny of twins (one of each) in July. It's lovely.

As for the 'getting old' - a lot of my friends are having 50th birthday crises at the moment. I'm looking forward to my own with equanimity: Becoming a granny is a much bigger milestone of the passage of time, after all and the good thing is that with the 'pain' of realising you're getting older, you also get the huge 'gain' of lovely little people.

Also, one thing I really love about it is that I kept being congratulated for something that had required no effort whatsoever on my part lol.
