I don't like that it's on the left side. If you are over the age of 30 I think you should go to the ER or a walk in clinic. I'm sure you'll be fine but that's my 2cents.

          Strange feelings in my head/face

          Hi guys,
Thanks for your concern and advice.
I had just registered with a new G.P., and I went along there this morning only to be told that Health Board does not permit G.P. to examine me until I appear in their system. So, new G.P. advised me to go to Accident and Emergency...........I had to wait ages, but I passed their basic neurological tests........all they found was that my blood pressure was a little elevated. They said that they are not unduly concerned about me, but to come back immediately if symptoms worsen.........they suspect its stress related........could well be, as I`ve got a lot going on at this time.

Anyway, am home and a whole lot less worried now.........just wish my face and head would stop feeling as if I`ve been hit by a catapult!!! lol

And yes, definitely high time for me to walk the walk rather than just talk the talk where the ciggies are concerned too.......

          Thanks all.

          Much love,

          Starlight Impress x

                Hi Star,
so glad you are ok. I suffer stress, headaches etc. I have had one session of reflexology
and found it so relaxing, so I have an appt. once a fortnight now, it's great.

Sounds like nothing to serious - whew!!

Have you ever tried acupuncture? Just a thought... Good for stress, balance, and a good acupuncurist may have some insight the western docs don't...

Let us know how you are feeling!

I'm glad that it doesn't appear too serious, Star. Sounded quite scary there for a bit. Keep taking care of yourself. Let us know if you need some extra support with trying to stop the ciggies, okay?

Starlight, I am glad it wasn't anything serious either. Sounded like signs of a stroke to me, and was worried. You have been under so much stress as of late and I am guessing you must be internalizing a lot of it without being completely aware of it.

Take care of yourself. The only smart thing my mother ever has said to me was "nothing is worth killing yourself over." I was internalizing all of my stress and by mid July I ended up in the Emergency Room with what I thought was something more serious.

Have you tried meditation? I hear it works very well for stress and it is free of charge.

And yes, if you want to quit smoking, we will be here for you too.

Starlight, so glad to hear it's not a major thing, it is really amazing what stress can do to us, so certainly can believe that is what is causing your numbness, etc. MM suggested accupunture, and I second the suggrestion. It can do amazing things.

                          Star,

Smoking was my BIG thing. Took me years to get free from it, but it is six years now since I've smoked (anything). A book that really helped me, you may already know it, but thought I'd share anyway is: Allen Carr, The Easy Way to Stop Smoking. He has a completely different approach to everyone else. He maintains that most of the smoking addiction is in the mind - I definitely concur. All I know is that ever since I read this book, the narratives my mind used to launch into have completely changed. I no longer look at other smokers and think : Gee, they're lucky, wish I could just have one ... I am seriously free of all desire to smoke. And for somone who always had a cigarette, or a joint in hand, this is no small thing ...!

                            Strange feelings in my head/face

Had planned to try meditating over the weekend, but things got rather hectic and I never got around to it yet....bit of a vicious circle, I guess.........dunno about the acupuncture.....am something of the "scaredy cat".

Really know now that the fags have got to go.........am disgusted at myself for being weak and continuing to light up. Have read so many rave reviews of Allen Carr`s book that I am very confident it could bring me success.

Got a laugh for you now..........looked in local library for it last week, but wasn`t there........have been loathe to buy it, as I`m only likely to need it once, right? lol
Guess I better just dig deep and buy a copy.........after all........compare the price of a book to ?2000 p.a. in smokes!!! lol

Thanks again to all for your kind words,

Yep - ditch them cigs! - you know you want to! - Give acupuncture a go! It is nothing to be scared about - the needles are so fine you barely notice them!
