    Full moon and drinking?

Is this a trigger for anyone else? I really overdid it last night and asked myself why, why, why??? Then someone mentioned a full moon is approaching and it happens to them too! Could it really be?

Astrology and the alignment of the planets etc is something I never really delved deep enough into to understand fully. BUT if you're talking full-moon/werewolf approach to this then you are definitely stark raving bonkers and need to be shot with a silver bullet if you ever drink again!! you're howling mad!!!:nutso:

With the change of the moons, comes the change of the tides. This can affects our bodies seeing they are mainly water. Full moons can have an impact on moods apparently, so therefore, I can see it possibly affect one's drinking.

I would imagine it is hormonal. Us women's cycles are often tied to the moon. Probably the darn water thing... (I wouldn't know any more... really big sigh)

But then again, we could just be totally bonkers, like Hippie says...

db2 -- it has been more intense for me post-menopausal

myheart -- tonight it is 100% full moon...but in astrology the principle is --the movement of approaching the aspect is stronger

The movement of approaching is stronger? Wow, never heard of it but I am affected by the moon in other ways as well. I know more babies are born on full moons and ER's are extra busy on full moons. The "extra drinking" never dawned on me until someone mentioned it, it makes sense. Good to know

Apparently there is more 'roadkill' during a full moon.............not sure wot relevance this has to this conversation but perhaps whilst engaging in full moon drinking fever and popping out sprogs left right and centre....we should also be on the lookout for big trucks heading our way.

                          Full moon and drinking?

Full moon = me HOWLING!!! It really can have an effect, My Heart and I would highly recomend you write them in your diary....don't take on too much tricky stuff around them and yes, the pressures are stronger in the lead up to the actual full moon.... this one is the 'biggest' of the year...i.e. the moon moves around the earth in an eliptical circle (oval!!) and at certain times is therefore closer to us - like now. So the tides are higher (like yesterday and today) because the moon's pressure on the earth is pressing down on the waters and pushing them higher... (simple version!) So, it (she) is presing down on us too and we feel it - under pressure, everything seems more pressurised < stressful < 'need' a drink < react more quickly to it < want more...... WATCH IT!!! And if (like me) you have the moon in your birth chart (not all this newspaper horoscope stuff) - how the planets were at your birth, time and place - placed very strongly...well, she'll affect you even more so learn to work with her and don't let her knock you off your perch! Never underestimate the power of the moon! (Me, yes, a 'true' lunatic...very, very strong in my chart and when I felt just a bit 'twittery' yesterday I checked my tide tables and, yup, there she was!! BUT 5 months down the AF road I am so, so, so much better! So stick in there! Go get some tide tables if you're near the coast, Google them or buy a lunar calendar from a 'New Age-y' shop.... And watch the hormones - traditionally when women menstruate (sorry any guys) too....so.... DOUBLE HOWL!!! (AND if the there is low pressure in the weather systems... Triple howl! (Low pressure can push tidal heights up by 18 inches so imagine what they're doing to us!!)

Good luck, loads of water and don't beat yourself up....back on your plan and be ready next time! (28 days!)

                            astrology

Hey FMF! It was really interesting and informative reading your post this morning!. I was told by ax partner a long time ago who did my birth chart that I had my moon rising in Scorpio. Therefore I would assume everyone has the moon in their own charts rising in different places etc. I'm no expert anyway and you are clearly well read on the subject so maybe you could remind me what this 'moon rising in Scorpio' means?

I had a partner a long time ago now, which is why I've forgotten all this stuff, who was very much into new - age theories and Astrology was her big passion; I at the time wasn't. I guess I wasn't willing enough to accept the idea, as my ideas were based around getting drunk.!!!

Funny 'cause my need to drink seems to have ebbed the past two days. However, my need to confess all and make a right fool of myself increased dramatically.
