    A Bad Weekend

    Dear CAshy
Only saw your post just now as I've been off the boards for a while.
Hang in there and get some help... let your husband do the worrying for a bit and get you to the Dr. or whatever needs to be done to get you feeling OK again.
    Want me to ring you?

I've been thinking about you all nite... and wondered if you thought about maybe your electrolites could be out of whack... or you could be dehydrated.... you should go to the hospital and have them get some fluids in you. It would make you feel better. If you don't do that... start on chicken broth, gatorade, water, mild herb tea, tons of water... protein drinks.... watch you blood pressure and heart rate. Are you breaking into sweats? Chills or any disorientation.... you really should think about the ER... It's just a thought. But, I've been laying here awake for two hours and it's now six in the morning... and I just had to tell you....

What I'm saying is go see a doctor. Get your vitals checked. See what they can do for you. Whether you go in for the God thing or not... He's still watching over you. I get that seasonal disorder too.... what a bummer... I'm from AZ and now in NY... I have to sit in front of special lites... just to cheer up....

            Cashy,

Post and let us know how you are. We are all worrying about you.

Yes. I do think it is the meds. Yes the weather can hit you but your symptoms are definitely a "mixed episode" like MyHeart says.

Like I posted, it takes a long time to get the bipolar in check. Remember, it is just like any other chronic disease, you must be patient and keep working on it. It is hard when it is "mental" because it affects so many parts of your life; such as relationships with family and the ability to communicate well. I have seen this personally.

The "up" side is that I have also seen dear friends get well and get on with the business of living, you can, too, if you stay the course and keep working at it.

Please, just let us know you are okay!!

            Love,
            Cindi

Cashy I work with people with bi- polar, it is part of the condition (unfortunately), looks
like you are in a low mood.It will lift, do you know, some of the most creative wonderful
people suffer with this disorder ? e.g Spike Milligan. One man who I often nurse, and has
suffered this condition, is one of the most kind caring people I have ever met, he told me
" this illness can so often make me feel so low , that I will never feel human again, and
then lift so I can conquer the world. Be well Cashy. Love Paula xx
Capt Bean I did like what you had to say, I intend to copy it.

Ps.Spike Milligan, was a comic genius, who once called Prince Charles , a grovelling little
bastard. On his headstone, after his death, was written "I told you I was ill.

Cashy, I'm sorry you are feeling down. I have a good friend with bi-polar and she's been doing much better the past year. Eliminating some of the stress in her life and getting a dog helped her big time(in addition to meds). I hope you get some relief from these feelings.

My husband always says the thing that has helped him the most is aerobic excercise every morning. Easier said than done, we get so busy...but it is a good goal.

Hope you're feeling a little better today :l

I hope you're feeling better, I've no advice but it was so kind of you to answer my question on another thread, especially when you were feeling so awful. I hadn't seen this thread before I asked.

                          A Bad Weekend

Thanks everyone - am still going up and down like a yoyo - it seems to be on a half daily basis - am seeing my pdoc tonight about the whole debacle. I think you guys are right about the mixed episode - it sure reads that way. And of course you are all right - bipolar people are generally cool as! It's that manic thing.

I loved Spike too. And they say Peter Sellers had it as well, and the list does on and on....someone in a book I read said this must be something to do with survival of the fittest (why on earth would the gene be passed down if it wasn't!). He jokingly states that if we didn't have bipolars with those mania "eureka" genes we might never have come down from the trees !!

That's taking it all a bit far I know - but this was from a bipolar person who wrote a great book and we all need a little humour in our lives once in a while.

Thanks you all for your support yesterday - my hubby and I really appreciate it - it got me through a really bad day and stopped me from drinking - which was more than likely going to happen.

You are all chamions and I will come back on later to let you know what the doc says/thinks/gives me etc.

Thankyou so much again, you people are lifesavers.

                          xxxx

PS for some reason I could not post anything yesterday evening - perhaps the admin guys were playing with the servier and Oz was down. So sory I didn't get back to you.

PPS Thanks JBean - I have been leeping up my fluids cause my meds make me so thirsty all the time - feel waterlogged. Am avoiding all caffiene and fizzy drinks as they can spin me out when like this. Trying to "live well" with this disease - trying being the operative word.
