    Writers, Help!

Now that I'm not drinking, I have a hard time writing. There used to be sort of a golden hour, when I wasn't drunk, but I was drinking, when I'd do all of my best writing.

How does one get past that?

Boy - can I relate to that. I used to have my BEST ideas when I was was enjoying being a full 60 minutes within that golden hour. Ride it out. After a while, un-drunk, seconds become precious. Thoughts become less flamboyant but clearer. Words become softer but feelings become sharper.

Ride it out. Keep on writing.

I too can relate. I haven't tried true writing sober yet... but here's what I figure. Those brilliant ideas, the creativity and flow of words, didn't come from the bottle. They came from me. So I just need to figure out how to access it all without booze.
Maybe meditating before sitting to write? It might clear the clutter out of the way and allow easier access to the creative genius within.
      FINALLY -- I'm a non-drinker!!
