yeah, the bipolar spectrum is an interesting one - there's Bipolar Lite (cyclothymia) through to Psychosis and mania (a lovely combination). I have only had 2 major depressive episodes - the rest has been up up up...hence the credit debt and some v strange situations i've found myself in - quite dangerous some of them!! (not really funny!).
I am taking tegretol (carbamazepine), it's an anti-convulsant used for epilepsy (as are most anti-mania drugs - eg sodium valproate, lamictal,gabapentin etc). The Lamictal worked brilliantly - then the bloody rash, but the tegretol seems to be doing the job - am at work, am alot calmer, can think properly etc etc. I take 200mg in the morning, 400 at night.
So far so good.
yeah anti-deps send me flying high.
