Hey Cashy,
Sometimes in America, they will use more than one medication to deal with difficult to treat bi-polar illness. Not every instance is straightforward, unfortunately. Will they get creative Down Under?
I know it is hard to deal with the medication, and the desire not to take it. It stinks. I hope you can get it all sorted out as soon as possible.
I'm thinking of you.

Thanks everyone.
Yes got pissed. Back at work now - i'm OK. Upped the meds and have calmed down alot. I don't take anti-deps - they send me through the roof - and into the stratosphere! I take my lovely mood stabiliser and some in-between studd to put a lid on the high when it's going up up up
All OK now - got a bit silly there, sorry guys.

Cashy,
Hang in there! I am asthmatic.... would anyone tell me not to take my medication? I think not! I have also battled with depression and finally took medication that did give me relief! Some people are ignorant and judgemental when it comes to medication. You do what you have to do to stay well....You of all people deserve that!

cashy just saw this thread. i am thinking of you and am just letting you know that on the deal of bipolar i only know that the meds work. i don't know of an alternative to that. i doknow though that going off them doesn't work for any of my friends that do. so do whatever you need to do to take care of yourself. i am just saying a prayer for you knowing that you are feeling like yourself again and feeling stronger everyday. yeah....... for that. boots:welcome:

Cashy, so glad you're back and feeling better.
You say you don't take anti-deps, and I don't either for the same reason (am also bipolar-- by the way, Nancy, like depression, it can be mild or severe-- it's not necessarily better or worse than depression, it's just a mix of depression and manic). Never could find a med that didn't send me out of my skin through the roof and much farther, or else put me to sleep for days. But, may I ask what mood stabiliser you are taking that works so well?. I have yet to find any medication that helps. I'm doing ok on lithium orotate, but it's a little uneven. Works well for days and weeks and then suddenly some bad days sneak in. I'm open to absolutely anything-- it just has to work!Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life... And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.
