    Is Alcohol worse than ecstasy?

The one time I did ex...
worse or dangerous aren't the words that come to mind in remembrance...
Definately not something to do everyday...

It was a long time ago though. Back in the wild days of living out of a backpack on the beach in Kauai.

I can't imagine anyone being aggressive on that stuff.

    Interesting ...thanks Hippie.

        Is Alcohol worse than ecstasy?

Hi I'm new here. I am 38 and been drinking since I was 15, I realise now that I have been more-or-less an alcoholic since I was about 20, however it's only the past 2-3 years it has gotten seriously out of control. I am now in a treatment programme and - hurrah! - 143 days dry. I hope to remain AF forever, booze has cost me friends, most of my money, several relationships, my job and my self-respect.

By contrast I have taken Ecstasy off and on since I was 21 (in those ravey days every w/e, now just once or twice a year, including last weekend) and in my experience apart from one 'dodgy pill' it's never caused me any serious problems. It DOES however lead to 'moody Tuesdays' and I wouldn't recommend it for anyone who has a tendency to depression or anxiety. I also notice that me and other people who once took E regularly now have terrible problems sleeping (one of many reasons in fact that I turned to alcohol so heavily)

I am not saying people should take Ecstasy but based on mine and my friends' experiences, I know that if I heard one of my young nephews (18-25, it's definitely NOT FOR KIDS) was taking E regularly, I'd be less worried than if I heard they were drinking heavily.

Yet funnily enough our society seems to approve of young lads going out on the piss. Like most people here I'm sure, I am a lesson in the harm that does.

I can't say I am suprised alcohol was no.5 although I was suprised about the admissions to A & E. Alcohol is the legal drug yet causes more death.

I don't think I can imagine what would be the reaction of people if alcohol was classified.

So much is spent on alcohol, advertising it, bottling and then policing those who have had too much or nursing them.

Very interesting and informative programme though. Just need to give up no 7: tabacco.

Didn't see it I am afraid but....the radio interviews here yesterday were all about how we should let kids of 14 into pubs now because there they could 'learn to drink' (!??!) under supervision instead of drinking cheap supermarket drink in the streets......

Not one person questioned the fact that at 14 (if ever!) you do not need to drink alcohol...one Mum said there was 'nothing else for her 14 -15 yo daughters to do' so she backed it..................WHAT???????

WTF are we doing to our society...... ??????? Bring back National Service if necessary....people are becoming blobs!

            Sadly
