Happy Independence Day !!!!!!!!!!

should be out at the shooting range for such a historically significant day (since fireworks are banned here due to fires) but I'll have to defer that to next week as I've been super busy. Dx and I did go to a nice party tonight and I brought a quinoa salad that was a hit So i hope everyone has had a great fun and safe holiday so far and didn't eat as much chocolate cake as I did!! oink!

Oh Tear - I'm so glad you popped right back into your AF Days - hoping this will just be a educational step for you! I think we can become legalistic in our thinking after all the counting we do - so just keep on keeping on!

Det - I'd love to find out how you make the quinoa salad. I didn't have any chocolate cake - didn't know that was a "4th" tradition .... unless you were talking brownies!! I think I'll make some right now:H

Believe - we haven't had a Sunday chat in a long time (the group). I can't tomorrow, as I have family in town for the weekend - but could next Sunday. Anyone up for a toga party?

I watched the most amazing firework display in Boston - am traveling home now. It was an awesome week. I LOVE that city. WW - we WILL be meeting up there!

Hi everyone...

Another week...another challenge. A good friend and her 4 kids are comig for a visit tomorrow. They will only be here a few days. She is the last person I drank with. We lived within walking distance and were big wine drinkers. Girl talk and a few bottles of wine. Understand that there are 400 bottles of wine in my basement - my old life and my new are on collision course Oh well, it is drink up or fess up time.

I was actually in chat last night with an abster who sent up a flare.

Thankful, no voodoo dolls of me, please. I'm much more a cousin than a sister (and I understand that).

Another week begins .....

Beck - you have such a great history running behind you to propel you through this visit. I highly highly recommend that you tell this friend you are NOT drinking due to ___________ what ever you decide it's due to!! It's going to be "business as it used to be" if you don't. When it comes to Alcohol - if you have ever had a drink with someone, they automatically ASSUME you are drinking with them. It's just weird that way - but I've seen it all to often.
I hope you are able to BE STRONG!

Tear - I feel this is your week to shine. No AL all week and you will regain your confidence. It is yours for the taking.

Hi Beck. For what its worth, I thin a collision of the old and new is a neccessary part of our growth (or evolution or whatever you want to call it). One step further along the path, you know? Beck, I promise, I wasn't talking about our sisters that we have here on MWO. I was talking about Wonderworld's and my real sisters who are making our family's life hell right now. That's pretty much all we chatted about and it was nice cause we could really relate to each other. I would never make voodoo dolls of you gals! I love you all too much! BTW, good luck with your friend visiting. I hope it all works out well. I would think honesty is the best policy as you never know, she just might want to cut back on drinking too. This kind of chat is what got RJ and her friend started on the MWO book! But you know whats right for you. We are here if you need us.

Believe, I finally got to bed about 4:30 this morning! lol Even when I finally logged off, I couldn't sleep and I had to read for a while. I got up about around 9:30 and not nearly as tired as I should be. Hopefully things will be better tonight. You working another 15 days in a row or are you able to make a group chat Sun? Pushy, aren't I??? lol

Liv ~ I am about an hour away from Boston. I don't know if I can even make the NE meet up next month, but I would love to know when you visit your daughter again, providing you are interested in hooking up somewhere. Things are just real crazy for me from now until the first week of Sept.

Haha Thankful thats a pretty serious supp you're taking. 4:30! Actually I was up till about 4 my time this morning myself playing games. I slept till about 2:30 this afternoon tho

I don't know what my schedule is for sure yet, but I will in a couple hours when I get to work. I'm scheduled to get 5 days off this week (which would include Sunday) but we'll have to see whats crackin at work. OT pays well bt I'm sick of being there. Lol maybe this week we could narrow down a timeframe for our chat! Make things a little easier.

Thankful, ! I'm with you on the honesty thing. Truth is, I am just tired of lying and evading. I lied about my drinking and now I'm lying about my NOT drinking. I'm just sick to death of it. I fully intend to fess up. Now about the voodoo dolls - you can make a voodoo doll of my sister too. (I do know you would never truly ever wish anyone harm, my friend.)

Believe, you are right about the collision - it is a growth opportunity. I'm strong enough to handle it now.
