    Day 31 and Beyond: Hello, I'm a non-drinker

Okay! Well, just had a long talk with tenant. She has calmed down. She was rational and aware of the 'lack of organization' in her day, and she thanked me profusely, and very sweetly, for my help. I'm not saying there won't be any more hand-holding (I'm driving her to find dinner in an hour), but I like her. Apparently, though aged 39, she has not been totally on her own much - always in a long term relationship (unlike me, who has moved a hundred times). So, with my good boundaries intact, I'm thinking positively and hoping for the best. And, once she settles down, I have a guy who might be perfect for her. A nice one.

And now, back to our regularly scheduled program .............and finally doing some catching up.....

Liv, I LOVE Siesta Key Beach! Spent many many hours there. And my uncle was there with his girlfriend at the same time you were! He's a nutcase - fun and harmless - but a nutcase. He has the lampshade on his head by breakfast (with no bloody mary's required!). I loved your comment about mornings. I LOVE mornings. My coffee, the easing into the day, no hangover and guilt, no (major) dread of the day ahead. It's sweet!

Believe, how's your self? Has work been okay? Looking forward to seeing you at the party tomorrow. Hope yer xbox is behaving .

Sunbeam- I love your name , and your sunny avatar! I feel like I don't know you at all !!! Howz your AF going? How many days is it for you now? Are you adjusting to the AF lifestyle okay? Would love to hear more........

Hello Katie- Your adventures sound wonderful. Hope that your are feeling better:l. Looking forward to our play date tomorrow!

    No L
, my rascally AF sister! I have my eye on you!!! You better behave, or else!

    Bootsie!
Sounds like you are dominating out there on the West Coast. Isn't it amazing how different our lives are from way back when we first 'met'? So happy for you. Howz HH?

    Thankful
    - There is so much I want to catch up with you about. First, that cockamamey (or however you spell it) situation you're living in with all those drinkers. Are you alright with it? I just hope it doesn't stress you out too much, or get you down. Interesting about coffee triggerng a beer urge. I haven't heard that before, but I totally believe it. Who knows what goes on in these brains? I'm down to 2 cups of half caf in the morning and that's it. Would eventually like to cut those out too. As far as the AF beers, use caution. They DO have a little alcohol in them (if it's less than 5%, they can call it AF Beer, I think), so there is a real issue of a chemical trigger happening. For myself personally, I don't drink them. My brain goes a little :nutso: from the taste I think (such DEEP conditioning, LOL!!!) and I can't tell if I'm getting a teeny tiny buzz or not, and then I want more. Makes me a little nervous. That's my experience of it anyway. Just be careful.

And where are the other Dudes? BHOG? Det? WASSUP ?!?!?! Hope to see you at he party tomorrow.

    MM
, Hey Girlie!! How was the show? How did our girl do? Look at you (and me!) in our 90 days. All that we've been through together, eh? I can't even believe it. Love you!:l

Okay off to goof around ........... see you a little later.......

    Love WW xx

        Day 31 and Beyond: Hello, I'm a non-drinker

whassup in the dog pound? woof!

Liv, in addition to the LGlut for sugar cravings I'd take chromium picolinate. it not only reduces sugar cravings but helps the body to maintain a proper balance of insulin levels so that when/if you do eat some sugar it doesn't have such a deleterious effect on the body. it stands to reason then and has been confirmed in studies that it is a critically important nutrient for those suffering from any form of diabetes.
Heres the really good news about chromium...it's a diet supplent that really works. it helps our bodies metabolism to burn fat more efficiently and helps in building of lean muscle mass.
Daily dosage for otherwise healthy people: 200 to 600 MCG per day. for those with full blown diabetes or those that are very overweight 600-1,000MCG per day.
this info is paraphrased from the excellent "Vita-Nutrient Solution" by Dr Robert Atkins.

Thanks Det! I now remember i took Chrom years ago (when I was my healthy self) along with other things - so I didn't know what was helping - but it worked well then - I appreciate this. You are my nutrition Main Man - :thanks:

              Day 31 and Beyond: Hello, I'm a non-drinker

              Hey, my fellow non-drinkers,

Sunbeam ~ Don't you worry about trying to keep up with details here. Confusing isn't it? I promise we won't test you ......or will we? Muhahahaha! Just post about you and let us know how you are doing.

BHOG ~ Sorry your mom is not doing well. Does she live near you? I hope you get to see her often. Hang in there, Buddy.

Kate ~ I'm glad you are feeling better. Your talk of the drive through the canyon was touching. Thank you for sharing that. You are so sweet.

Det ~ carp diem - seafood dish?!? LMAO!! Btw, thanks for the reminder on the chromium picolinate. Took it years ago and I don't know why I stopped.

WW ~ Now missy, we just may need to hire a new AF secretary! You got Mya's days wrong. You've messed up Liv's. Are you sure you got your's right? lol We'll let you keep the job for now, only because you haven't asked for a raise yet!

Glad you have a renter. Hope it works out for the best.

Believe ~ how many hours do you have to work to pay for that chrome tray model? Geez, you never come out and play. You should be able to buy the gold model if you keep this up!

Noelle ~ we should take priority over the hockey game tomorrow. Chat - 5PM Eastern! You got that?

MM ~ hope you make it as well, but we understand your little miss is on Fairy Godmother duties. Can't wait to hear the stories. Enjoy!

I guess I should try to catch some zzzzz's. Real exciting Saturday night here! Actually in my own bed tonight and I really need the sleep. So hopefully....

              Love, Me

                    Day 31 and Beyond: Hello, I'm a non-drinker

and....... THANKFUL! Mya had HER OWN days wrong and I CORRECTED HER!!!. AS far as Liv, well, I just kind of got to assuming that she was part of the original group and so thought her dates were in 'The System' (read: the coffee-stained Staples desk calendar on my kitchen counter).

I will try to do a better job. No! No! PLEASE don't HELP ME ............
(would you like the secretary job? The pay is for shit, but the hugs are awesome .
I would be happy to send you my coffee-stained Staples desk calendar, or better yet, the dates .

Speaking of which - BHOG and Sunbeam have not been 'processed' (read: their AF dates aren't in the coffee-stained Staples desk calendar, or 'CSSDC' as we call it in the biz). I will hunt those dates down.

                    Love :h WW xx

Well, I don't like beer, so AF beer sounds even worse!!! LOL!

As for AF wine, I love the taste of wine.......yes, I do! But, I am staying away from AF wine, I am afraid that it would be the same as drinking decaf coffee. It would leave me wanting and expecting the "Buzz".
So, I guess I am saying that, I am afraid that AF wine would be a huge trigger!! Best just to stick to healthy alternatives!!

I made a reference to sex here, but...........it is early in the day, and I don't want to talk about sex right now.....LOL......taxes stress me out!!!

                            WW love the picture! hahahahahaa!

note: N/A beer has less than 0.5% al

the Ariel brand of N/A red wine is actually not too bad. sometimes I'll have that when I'm in a snooty mindset.

and heres food for thought..... why don't people have eggplant for breakfast more often? it rocks!

                            ok, off to peel garlic....

                              Day 31 and Beyond: Hello, I'm a non-drinker

That's what I meant Det - .5% on the 'AF' beer.

Even trace amounts trigger your brain and can set the craving phenomenon in motion - it's a fact! Be careful! You would not believe how many relapse stories from 'AF' beverages (especially AF beer) I've heard over the years. If you are AF have the 'allergy', it's not about weakness, it's the brain chemistry getting triggered - tempts fate big time if you ask me!

Speech over! Sorry - it just bugs me that 'AF' does not actually mean AF on those bottles. It's dangerous an irresponsible. Sure, if a non problem-drinker wanted to keep the buzz on the light side, or they're driving or whatever, okay. For me, it's a whole other story. If I were moderating, it would be different.

                              Love WW xx
