    Oh one more interesting thing...

I was looking in my "memory box" today..basically just a bunch of stuff I have saved over the years...I found this "poem" I wrote in college...oh maybe 25 years ago. I didn't even drink much then (had an eating disorder...drinking had too many calories) but I found it fascinating that I wrote this. Be prepared...I am NO poet lol

    THE FUTURE PSYCHOLOGIST
One would think I could understand a women's neurosis...
    Freud would call it anxiety...
    Conflict carried from childhood...
    So much extra baggage...
    Regression to the oral stage...
    Almost like mother's milk...
    Only filled with wine instead...
    Wish fufillment...
    Unfufilled...
    Guilt, shame, her super-Super EGO...
Sex is bad, so her parents would say...
But that is what brought me...
    No, I CANNOT understand...
She is my mother, she must be perfect...
Then why does she make me unhappy?...
My anger turns inward, guilt, shame...
    Separation anxiety...
    The cycle is complete...
    Thank you Grandma...
I couldn't have done it without you...

      Thank you for sharing that.

Just wondering, how do feel about those words 25 years later?

Wow, Beth. Intense! So true are these words to me.

I too am grateful for my grandmother, she was the one whose unconditional love filled the void left by my mother. I am grateful for having the capacity to love my children and now, to love my grandchildren.

        Thank you
