I haven't totally given up drinking, but glad i found this forum, hopefully i will now make a conscious effort to finally knock it on the head. I'm so relieved to know there so many other people who know how difficult it can be not to be controlled by booze. But i am encouraged to read that so many have.

I am pretty new here myself. Check the place out. Seems like this is a lot easier way to find a support group than going to a local AA meeting. More private and sometimes easier to chat online anonymously.

I work as a visible health care professional and can't really allow myself to be seen treated for alcohol dependence without it hurting my career. SO I am here!

It is not easy! Damnit! I so wish it was! But being here is not a bad way to start! I haven't had a drink in a week Monday, probably for the first time in many years I have gone that long. Not like getting through tonight is going to be easy either....but better than the last.
