Suzanna-Is it new concrete? If it is, that would be easy to do, because prep is the worst part of acid-staining; every little flaw comes out-not a bad idea to sand it first.
I use a sprayer to apply the stain; make sure it is all plastic-no metal. Let areas "pool" up if that happens-this is what creates the different hues. Do two coats. Clean up with baking soda. And I would advise sealing it with a paint brush- I used a roller that was recommended on a website-bad idea.
Oh, and make sure you cover all walls. I was a fool and fried the shit out of a wood wall and had to paint it.
There are many great websites out there. It really does look fantastic when it is done. And oh so easy to clean!!!
