    Any good AF drinks?

Yeah, I took the club soda and juice idea from here and I love it. My new kick is this grapefruit/tangerine combo I found in Walmart. Brand name is Sam's Choice (which I believe is a Walmart brand). That w/club soda is out of this world!

Oh, and I'm definately going to try your recipe Patty. But do you add wholes cloves or ground? Does it matter? I think ground is more potent, so just wondering what you use.

    Thanks.

Wow, this was great! Patty, that recipe sounds delish!!! I love REAL cran juice and will be trying that asap! I have also wondered what the dif. between those teas were too. With our culture club here hopefully we'll get an answer! Thanks all for the idea, after reading this too, I think the more I stay away any form of AL the better! Thanks, flyin'

Thankful, the recipe is really for ground cloves, but I've used whole cloves, too... you don't have to use the tea infuser if you don't mind getting spices stuck in your teeth (which can look like chewing tobacco! )

I hope the tea question gets answered, because as I was working today, I thought of a bunch of Irish Breakfast Tea jokes.... is it flavored with whiskey? Or is it extra caffeinated?

Does everyone know what an "Arnold Palmer" beverage is? One time, I took a dealer out to lunch, and the guy says, "I think I'll splurge today and have an Arnold Palmer".... so, I start thinking that a Cuba Libre sounds refreshing (rum and coke), but decide to ask first what's in the Arnold Palmer....

It's unsweet iced tea, mixed with lemonade... apparently made famous in Florida by good old Arnie! Boy, was I glad that I didn't goof and order something with too much jolt.

I Agree, AF Wine Sucks. AF Beer is not bad though. Guinness Makes Kaliber which is very good.

            Any good AF drinks?

            What great information on here!

I love green tea with lemon, cold. Flavored coffee in the winter with or without cream.

A few of my favorite drinks when AF are:

Diet Cherry 7-up mixed with Hawaiian Punch
            Cranberry juice and diet 7-up
            Fresca and Orange Juice

            Hope this helps some!

if you want some thing to calm the nerves then try a valerian tea...very good to get sleepy also. There are some de-stress blends of herbal teas that are just great hot or cold. In fact I'm having a peppermint tea as I write this as I have a stomach ache from eating crap food while traveling ugh!

the Ariel AF wines (especially the rouge if you like reds) is surprisingly good although since I'm taking antabuse I'm staying away even from that as it still has a teeeeeeny amount of al in it.

Tlrgs, virgin BMAry is great! Lately I've been taking some chilled organic tomato juice and adding a little bit of tobasco and a generous squeeze of fresh lime juice. it's fabu!

Fruit juices are great and I have several at any given time but look out for sugar content. they are sneaky and will use concentrated "junk juices" such as apple and white grape juice to sweeten them. Still beats the heck out of woofing down the booze!!

I was in the grocery store yesterday and there was Twinings of London tea, in three flavors: English Breakfast, Irish Breakfast, and Earl Grey. Does anyone know what the difference is between the English and the Irish Breakfast Teas?
The Earl Grey is "exquisitely scented with traditional Bergamot flavouring".
The English Tea says it's a blend of Ceylon & Indian producing a "full-bodied typicvally English brew".
The Irish Breakfast Tea says it's a traditional full-bodied blend flavoured by the Irish....

                  ???
I love Earl Grey tea, I don't drink normal 'english' tea but will on occasion have a cup of Earl Grey. It has a very light, almost perfumed flavour to it. Normal english tea is a bit more robust tasting and not my cup of tea at all (pardon the pun!) I'm not sure about Irish tea, sorry!

I like the twining Herbal teas, like Cranberry and Raspberry etc. I also drink G&T's, but without the G!!

                    Any good AF drinks?

Bumping this up!! Some of the Booze Busters have been inquiring about AF drinks - especially more festive things to compliment a nice dinner out, or a party atmosphere.

Here is a sample recipe that Louise posted - this sounds really awesome!!

1 quart water (1/2 regular, 1/2 sparkling) with 1/2 tsp grated fresh ginger, several slices of lemon, and 6-8 fresh mint leaves. Mix up and refrigerate for several hours.
I'd love more ideas - especially sugar free & low carb ones for my own selfish purposes!

                    Thanks,
                    DG

Refreshing drink: Homemade peach iced tea (instructions: go to specialist tea shop and buy peach leaves, raspberry leaves etc, make tons of tea with a tea ball, add sugar or sweetener to taste, stick in freezer to cool quickly - drink with ice. I made this once in detox and everyone loved it)
Calming drink: Chamomile tea or milky English tea
                          Goody-two-shoes drink: green tea

Drink I wish still existed: Fruitopia
Drink I am about to try: Patty's mulled cranberry
Other favourites: Dr Pepper, Cherry Coke, Cream Soda, Snapple, Irn Bru (yes really), Absinthe (hehe, joke).

Flyinghigh, I like to give the impression of being organised, but really don't take a look in the cupboard under the stairs...
