    Jail Story

what I got from mikes post, is that he was telling us about his experience. and he was being sincere which really touched me.
I read his post several times and was waiting for the continuation of his experience which I hope he adds to this thread. This is a good lesson for all of us to learn.

I understand where you are coming from DD but I don't think this thread is the place to ad such comments.

So are we going to hear about the rest of your story? We all support you and appreciate you sharing your experience with us (oh, and you are a terrific writer!).

Yes, agree with Hart, Kate and Trix. Mike, your story was so powerful. Baffled by that post ... No, there was not a shred of "poor me." You were simply recounting your experience for a consequence that many of us have, by sheer luck, escaped. And for that reason, I admire your raw honesty and you have helped us all with your story.

Mike I am sorry you had to go through this. Anyone who gets behind the wheel after drinking takes a chance of killing another person and would do years in prison. I have not quit drinking but quit driving and drinking 10 years ago after going through court for a year with my son. He was not drinking or doing drugs at the time of his accident but he had smoked pot 3 days prior on his 18th birthday. A man made a right turn in front of my son and one of my son's friends died. My son was found not guity of causing the accident or the death of his friend but in this state someone pays for a life taken. My son was given 5 years for agg assualt. No charges were ever given to the old man who turned in front of him even tho there was an eye witness on behalf of my son who helped the kids in the car. My son has never gotten over the accident or going to prison. In fact has paranoia from prison so bad and it has ruined his life. He has been in and out of prison ever since. My son spent 15 months in lock down. I have paid lawyers to at least get him examined , Dr said he is delusional, anti-social , psychotic, paranoid etc and still waiting for the next Dr to say what else they think he may have. Jails and prison are the last place anyone wants to visit. This doesn't happen to everyone who goes to prison but it did happen to my son. My son will never be the same again. He re-lives the accident everyday. I live daily as well. He was giving them a ride home after school. The girl was a twin and the other twin would come over to the house after the accident( while waiting trial) and I would just start shaking and feel
like passing out. She would say its not his fault. The twins were kicked out of the house my their mom at 15 and only after the accident did she try to get involved with the other daughter which was only to get the ins money. The daughter didn't move back with her mom. I visit her grave often and clean it up. Seems like no one goes there. Its very sad. Please don't drive drunk again. It is a nightmare from hell if an accident is caused by it.
                    My prays are with you
                    Bonnie

                              Jail Story

                              Hello there,

I've been talking to Hilary trying to see if I could help ease the anxiety she may have been feeling over her sentence. I told her my experience and answered questions for her. I hope I helped.

Anyway, I thought it might be time to resurrect my story from a couple of years ago. I received tremendous support from the great people on here back then. I've always tried to pay that forward even though I don't post much I like to reach out through pm's etc.

I did think long and hard about doing this as I don't really like to much attention but it happened so I deal with it.

Hilary is very lucky to have you all and she really appreciates all the comments.
