Inspiration Motivation in Music
Hippie,
I have to be honest and to say that every man/woman and their dog that has backpacked to Australia thinks they can play the digeridoo. I?ve seen honest-to-god aussie guys & gals who think they can play the didg with a bit of pvc pipe. SORRY It just does not do. If you ever have the honour of hearing a REAL artist you will know what I mean. It?s kinda become part of the percussive ?global? mix but it?s just not making it REAL as far as I?m concerned. Here are some links.

These are old clips. When I saw Coloured Stone it was years ago in a remote community. The didge player was one of the most awesome performances I?ve ever seen and will live with me forever. He was arrested and taken away after the gig. He does not appear in these clips, but believe me, a real tribal man fully potent in his power is something to behold.

BTW
Awesome art exhibition on in Japan of art by the late Emily Kame Kngwarreye who is just an unspeakably wonderful artist who spent her whole life in the desert - now showing in Japan but maybe in Australia some time soon. There is stuff on the internet I know.. she did not start painting until she was in her 70's and died in her 90's not so long ago. She is very highly regarded. What more can I say.. can not think of a word big enough to pay her honour enough really.

Yeah I know exactly what you mean fickle about the Didg! I think Graham Wiggins aka Dr.Didg was more intrigued with the whole physics aspect of sound rather than actually a spiritual sound from the Didg I think or that's the impression I got from the guy. Saw him live a few times and wasn't that impressed to be honest. I remember when you posted that video of Imogen Heap recording and looping her vocals live.....reminded me a lot of that actually.
Treaty was the big hit Yothu Yindi had in this country that I remember way back in the early nineties I think. I couldn't for the life of me remember the name the other night when I was searching on youtube!! As you well know World fusion is one of my favourite genres of music so I have no complaints about the didg being used or overused in songs. I just love the whole tribal percussion sounds.
I was gonna post something by Kevin Bloody Wilson for ya for a laugh but I'd spend far too long on youtube trying to find something appropriate that won't offend the masses!!lol
Anyway here's another tune from my old festival/rave days.

Wow, i quite enjoyed that hips.. i've never been to a single rave believe it or not. I think I had kids before they started (at least in this country anyway). Glad there was no offence taken at my remarks.. there is a wee bit of feist in the fick.. but only for a good cause.
Now if you're talking physics.. and that Squonk thingo brought it to mind also.. boy that music alone is enough to make my senses whirl.. without any additives! It made me want to show & tell. My mum was a musician and studied composing and was having a whinge one day about 'modern' composers. My bro, who's into complex mathematics, art, architecture, composition etc.. bought this album for us. Blew us all away.. a kind of senses overload.. in a more classical kinda way eh? Here's just a trailer.. Steve Reich - Music for 18 Musicians

Now Hippie, please do not threaten me with Kevin Bloody Wilson!! There are far better comedians available here (warning - there are a few rude words in this so if you are easily offended please cover your ears): Tim Minchin - Some people have it worse than me

Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life... And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

10 things I hate about you poem
I hate the way you talk to me,
and the way you cut your hair.
I hate the way you drive my car,
I hate it when you stare.
I hate your big dumb combat boots
and the way you read my mind.
I hate you so much it makes me sick,
it even makes me rhyme.
I hate the way your always right,
I hate it when you lie.
I hate it when you make me laugh,
even worse when you make me cry.
I hate it when your not around,
and the fact that you didn?t call.
But mostly I hate the way I don?t hate you,
not even close
not even a little bit
not even at all.
