---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Into this world another child is born
A helpless, impressionable tyke,
He's so soft and beautiful in Gods eyes
For the parents to do as they like.
He was their possession, and you owed dear,
So they used to say
We feed you, and put a roof over-head
Listen or be on your way.
So this little tyke, looking like a man
Was up against a wall,
He hadn't much a choice, but to make the move
I think it was late in the fall.
And when everything is said and done,
Those things are stored away
They're piled up somewhere and never leave
You live with that every day.
Sometime just pull that stuff out,
And you'll see... there's a little boy;
He's been covered for years, and left behind,
When he could have brought so many such joy.
Only you can pull that stuff away,
And send it up above
Cause God can filter out the hurt
And give back to you the love.
Take that little boy in your arms,
Now you can see him clear;
That stuff will never pile up again
As long as you hold him near.
He knows you deserve happiness,
And never again will he hide,
Cause you'll always be his hero
Facing life with you side by side.

Update, Steve now lives in Hamilton, has a great job, just bought his first home along with his loving girlfriend. He just needed to believe in himself all those years ago.
