Hi everyone, so nice to finally join in again after soooo long! I have always been lurking and reading but just didn't get back into posting I guess! I have been 13 days sober now. I have finally come to conclusion that absolute abstenince is the only way. and believe me that was hard to say.....Trying to mod is not working. Always still finding myself hungover, foggy headed, having way too many when did not intend to and hurting my family which is the BIGGY for me. Its funny how you think you can mod and try but always seem to get right back on that path of failing. WEll not anymore for me. I went to AA and intend to return. i did enjoy the speaker meeting. I still cant believe how many people were there.....so many alcoholics just in one place!!!! We are Definitely not alone!!! THe post that really hit me was the one Bear wrote about "if I were to pick out a word to describe why i am able to stay sober and my cravings are gone it would be SURRENDER. THank you Bear for that post....I printed it and put it in my purse to always reflect on. I now SURRENDER.....IT DOES CONTROL ME!!! and i finally get it!!!

That's real talk right there, hon... I'm with you. I plan to get back on the wagon. Going back to the meetings... if it means a few times a week, so be it.

We've got to kick this habit, no matter how hard it is.
