Your story could be mine to some degree. I also have a fracture, mine at L-1, scoliosis, degenerative disc issues, and just major overall back problems.
I am also prescribed oxycontin for pain control.

I just wondered if your Dr. has ever discussed the use of a TENS unit? My mother's Dr. used this type of "pain therapy" to block back pain. Check it out, ask you doc. It could be an alternative.
