    THE LAST LECTURE-Randy Pausch

Many of us are familiar with Randy Paucsh and The Last Lecture. He is the professor from Carnegie Mellon, who is dying of incurable pancreatic cancer. It is a tradition at Carnegie Mellon, for a retiring professor to give a Last Lecture. This was not the reason for Prof. Pausch to give his last lecture.

This Wednesday at 10PM EST, Dianne Sawyer interviews Randy Pausch and his family and you can watch his Last Lecture. He is truly and inspiring man. His thoughts on life and yes, even dying way too young, though sad, are extremely uplifting. He truly makes one feel lucky to be alive and to take every moment a special and live life to the fullest.

He was in Parade Magazine on Sunday. He is truly an amazing man. I dread the day that I hear he has passed. :upset: Especially since he's a local guy.

I saw him on Oprah and it just did me in. I cannot fathom having that kind of fortitude and desire to reach out to others and make such a difference in others lives when you know you have such a limited time left. I cannot say enough good things about this man. I am so happy his children will have these concrete memories, i.e., book and videos, of their dad because he truly is one of a kind.

I agree,Lushy, he will leave quite a legacy for his family, his children in particular.

But the fact is, that illness, and even death touches us all. Perhaps we all can learn something about living from Randy. Living everyday to the fullest and the importance of the legacy we will leave behind one day! I ask myself, what will I leave behind for my children and grandchildren?

Where did you hear that Noelle? I just went to his website and he said he is back on the bike and they are hopeful some new treatment may slow things down. I know I cannot watch tonight as I just get too sad over things like this and I did see a blurb on GMA this morning which was nice.

That makes me really sad Noelle. But, I feel like, out of respect for he and his family, I need to listen to his message. His message will live on. We can all learn from him!

I watched Dianne Sawyers interview with him tonight - it was awesome. I cried through most of it - but with a big smile on my face. What an inspiration. Really did make me want to live differently. I want to watch the lecture. Where is it posted Kate? Is the book the same - as I am going to get that also. Thanks for the post Kate and comments Lushy & Noelle.
