    awful row with daughter...

    Palatia,

AMEN! I believe Mr. Best even even used the term "spoiled brats", now that you mention it. He was on a roll!

Thank you so much - I know I got inot a real panic earlier and now I feel a bit daft.....just family stuff that is probably quite familiar to most but I'm a bit crazy about it.....really worries me...

Thank you for reasssuring me that we could well have a T-shirt fashion show on our hands!!! Just not being alone helps so much...

All 'quiet' now... Good thing was the ability to have a really long talk with her Dad this afternoon and he was supportive and helpful....we have come a long way from 3 years ago!

Just a case of the nest getting a bit crowded with the young birds spreading their wings in the nest and flicking everyone's faces with the eing tips....ouch! And it's only natural but.....

I can only be as good as I can be - and work on being better....fairer and kinder and yet still steer and lead a bit....eeek! It's a pity kids don't come with a handbook eh?!?

Thank you so much for being there - I felt really bad just then and being able to share it was so....well, so incredible in helping it all settle down; I thought I'd pop!!!

Oh, I do so hope I get Broadband back soon and can catch up properly with everything here - mere glimpses here and there isn't very satisfactory! (But much better than the nothing of a couple of months ago.....! (Couple of months..?!?!?! Where'd the days go....?!?!)

Good luck to everyone 'in the kids ring' at the moment!

Love and hugs and thanks all round.

It is hard being judged by a teenager but that seems to be just a phase in their development. All teenagers seem to judge their parents regardless of what the parents do or dont do - especially teenager girls. Its even worse when they have an actual excuse such as excess drinking in my case and trying to party with their friends (cringe cringe). It would be funny if it wasnt so awful.
However having been throught it before with my older child I know it will pass and they will come out the other side and love you and appreciate you. The main thing is to focus on being AF as that will be the biggest gift you can give yourself and ultimately your daughter. She will be proud of you. Maybe not today but definitely in the future.

Maybe because your daughters started so early with this nonsense, they will end earlier?

That's what my daughter did.......hope it happens for you.

Best, I think the trick is to "not engage" with your children when they bring this stuff up!! Sure sounds like they are unappreciative of all of the sacrifices you and your husband made for them! Perhaps, one day, they will grow up and appreciate all that you did. I sure hope so!

I just do not understand some kids, for sure. And some adults. I have the most lovely neighbors, they are both nearly 70, he still works, because their lazy 46 year old daughter, does not work, (she claims to have a home based business, but can't pay rent or bills????) anyway, they have been supporting she, and her daughter for over 6 years! Her lack of appreciation is so evident by the fact that she continues to suck them dry!! Literally!! She always has a sob story that gets them to give her money! If it were me, I would give her one more months rent and cut her off completly! Let her wait tables, if she must!

Hope things get a lot better for you very soon!!
