    Friday Night Club... !!! for abstainers

    Here is the Friday Night Club.. it seems the time to think about it is NOW! (It's still morning where I live.)..

    Before we get those cravings, let's commit now to being here.. not drinking.. and support and fun for tonight... !!!!

    If anyone is interested.. Pogo games is a great diversion for me... We could actually play games together there.. you name it, it's there.. cards, casino, puzzle... etc.. and it's free...

    At any rate... Friday nights have been my downfall.. but I'm feeling confident today..

    Anyone else want to be here??

    Palatia, I might drop into chat but not much for puter games.....I wish we could play poker in real life!!! Or clue, or monopoly, my hubby doesn't like board games, but will play poker, but who wants to play two handed poker.....

      The games thing was a longshot.. I think it's important for me to have positive talk today..... and for most of us!

        Palatia, I know what you mean, you've had trouble before on Fridays, now you're fearful it could happen again just because it's Friday. Even though it is the end of the week, and for alot of us was our night it was ok to drink, etc...can you make your brain think it's Tuesday? It really is just another day of the week--just need to train the brain to think differently and perhaps find something to keep busy. It's cold and wintery here, so I think I'll cuddle up with a book, unless I can talk my hubby into watching Prison break tonight! I think I'm getting a little boring for him, but we can still talk while he has a beer and I make supper. Before I thought I had to drink with him to be on the same level. He understands that it is so much easier for me to not think about smoking as long as I'm not drinking.

                Hi Palatia-

                Way to plan ahead!!! Friday evenings are really, um.........trigger-y. While I'm somewhat over 'the hump' as far as cravings and (the more obvious) triggers, that conditioning runs deep! That damn Friday at 5 pm still feels a little treacherous. And getting through it and waking up AF and hangover-free Sat. a.m. is the best! Then I'm homefree for the weekend.

                So I will be here !!!! It's going to be an AF MWO Friday Night for this girl !

                  Count me in! I will probably play duplicate bridge on one of the online bridge sites....good suggestion. My husband will drink and get too chatty, but so what?

                    Woohoo! So far so good... it's about 3:20pm.. I have no craving at all..

                    Have things to do tomorrow... go taste wedding cakes for my out of town daughter's wedding, take son to official first day at work. I guess that's why I thought volunteering somewhere would be good.. to give me something to get up for on saturday mornings...

                    It will be nice (I hope) to not look hungover at this daughter's wedding in June like I did at my other daughter's wedding... and it's sad that those pics will live on in infamy...

                    I guess some of us will be jumping from playing games online to here and back.. ..

                        Yeah, what is Pogo? What is the website?

                        I recently stumbled on a fun website that for those of us that are "thirty something" can get a kick out of. Remember the old fun games we used to play in high school such as Pac-Man, Space Invaders (my favorite), Donkey Kong, etc? Well it has all of those old arcade favorites... its a lot of fun! Check it out...

                          Thanks for starting this tread P! I am very close to saying screw it and going out for wine. It's Friday, it's the time of day, it's my mood....ugh.:upset:

                            I just got some great advice about staying in and NOT drinking. I really want to, but I am not, and you dont have to either. We can talk on chat all night!! It will be a hoot! Although after talking to me for any amount of time can drive anyone to drink. HAHAHA
