Congratulations Angel on 9 Months of sobriety and forever and a day ago on quitting the stinky smokes too. I knew you would do this, it's the stubborness that really pays off when you need for it too. Way to Go!

Congratulations on reaching 9 months sober!!
I give myself credit every day that I had courage & determination 9 months ago to stay the course even though I was scared, and had no idea what this journey would lead me on.
Yes... I was very scared & frightened when I first started out... just like most of us.
But it doesn't take long for us to see that there is nothing to be fearful of... a better person is waiting to emerge, if we just give them time, understanding & forgiveness.

You are right as well that the journey should be just that, a journey. If we start to perceive there is some 'final destination' then we will never be truly happy with our continuing sobriety. The journey is infinite as is the pursuit of happiness.

p.s. your sense of humour here is one I enjoy greatly! The thread A journey of a thousand miles has kept me entertained for weeks!!lol"Keep me away from the wisdom which does not cry, the philosophy which does not laugh and the greatness which does not bow before children." Kahlil Gibran
