god i'm just in shock. i can't believe it. you know i first came to mwo but left after a month because i figured i was just way too out there for this conservative bunch. and i remember bear pming me and saying no barbie come back and come to the 30 day thread. we will love you and you can sober up there. and that's what i did. and he called and we laughed about our biker days and my tattoo parlor in the day.. hahahahaah wow, now that is 20 years ago. and well, i just want to say what a truley good man. if not for him in the scheme of life i would not have found my way at least now to sobriety. so on that trail i'm about to come up on 5 months. and bear was my papa in that.
it reminds me that at least he had a good long sober year with you mama bear. and that is worth everything. i mean to die a drunk is shut a horrid waste but to have had a good year to right the stuff that needed it and to be out there of service to others and to be doing life the way you both wanted it. if for no other reason, it makes it even more imperative to stop playing games with alcohol and have a real conversation with oneself.. when is it done? when are you over it. god, i'm just pissed off really. and i know that will pass but i'm thanking god for sending bear into my life and that through that touch i too have found sobriety... love barbi

Dear Ladybear & family plus his MWO family,

I never had the pleasure of corresponding with Bear but I have been reading his posts and all of the lovely tributes that have been posted. It is SO obvious he was a loved and was loved in return in a big way. A careing and kind man who had a positive influence on people here in the cyber world as I'm sure he did in his daily life. I feel his sobriety took him on a profound spiritual journey.
I want to bump 2 of his threads because they have both spoken volumes to me this morning. He's still helping people. :l:l
What a lovely, wise man, such a great loss.

This really rocks me to my core.... I simply cant believe it.... It is one of those thing that make you wonder why...but we must trust that there is a greater purpose in this terrible accident...the way that bear always gave back and had loving words of advice for all should be an inspiration to all of us...he was truly a loving and generous spirit that shone his light all those around him...he will be sorely missed here and i send my prayers, thought, love and hugs to his family and those at home that love him...his spirit will live on here, you can be sure of that...what a blessing he was to all of us....love love love to all...and God Bless His family - especially ladybear, their children and grandchildren...i will carry his memory with me, as i know we all will...Buckle

Just wanted ya'll to know what a blessing you are. I cycle through feelings of loss, sadness, anger, pain, numbness, and then I get to the good stuff, such an abundance of love my heart nearly bursts with it. Bear has always had such wonderful words of wisdom, but no self confidence. He found a place where helping others helped him. He felt confident that what words were shared could be used to help someone somewhere. We don't always know what impact what we do and say has on others, but you let Bear know, and for that I will be forever grateful. Unlike him I tend to be quite wordy and jump where my mind goes without a clear path for others to follow. I will miss his plain spoken direction and advice. I wake up every morning yearning to feel his arms around me. It took a long time to read all the wonderful posts. Thank you, thank you, thank you. You've helped me more than you will ever understand. Go with God, and know His goodness and mercy surround you. He will give you peace, comfort and understanding. Wait for His timing.

Bear was such an inspiration here. He helped so many people - way beyond his words on the board. He will truly be missed.
