Just a comment re drinking ages - I don't think it matters what the "legal" drinking age actually is. You can always get ahold of it. I know we were drinking at 16 quite regularly, and unfortunately at that age the goal is usually to get piss assed drunk. My neice, who just turned 19 and is now legal, actually drinks BEFORE she goes to the bar, because the drinks there are so expensive and it would cost too much for her to "get wasted". At least they are smart enough to have a designated driver. But I think the problem is pretty universal, regardless of legal age, or nationality.

          agree Hannah
I am typical mongrel American made up of hard-drinking genes: one-half German, the rest a semi-mysterious stew of Irish and English.

Another Irish person here. We did this thread before not that long ago and a huge number of people had a bit of Irish in them. Well after all Ireland biggest export used to be its population. I blame the English they made us drink! Only joking.

                    what nationality is everyone?

I'm British but my mum is Irish. A lot of my social family events revolved around a huge Irish Catholic community where even the priest was pie-eyed by the end of the night ... I learnt that no matter how slowly/quickly you were drinking, someone else put another drink there under your eyes. Protests of No, I've had enough, were met with go on have another one!
