Please help me, I have searched and searched and can not seem to figure this out. I see we need 2 forms of idea to get in to Canada, but WHAT ABOUT CHILDREN? Someone has to know.. HElP please????

Birth certifiacte & SS ID # ? I don't think you have time to get them a passport. Can you get a quickie photo ID? Call Post ofice maybe or travel agency.

I am starting to FREAK OUT GREENIE.....called barry today, he reassured me leaving out old friend...it is normal and I have not drink ANYTHING for 3 days! I am about to panic..................HA HA HA Are you nervous, excited, both?

Your children must have their birth certificates. Or a notarized copy.

ALSO, if you share custody of your children, you must bring the legal documents pertaining to this. You will need to bring written consent from your ex (their father) with his contact information as well.

i was raised near the canadian border and travel to Canada several times a year.I have never had to show any kind of ID.I was there last fall and they just asked the same old questions(where were you born,why are you going to Canada,how long will you be there).If the law has changed I need to know what I will need on my august trip.People had told me that after 911 everyone had to show proof of citizenship but i have been there 10 times or more since then and have not had to show anything.I will ask some Canadian friends and see what they say.....Evie

Be sure to bring those documents too, then. (Your Divorce papers, stating that). Also, get written consent from their dad. You may not even need it but, trust me, they can be total assholes at the border and you could be the one of many they interrogate.

Evie, you didn't have to show any ID at the border since 911? Ummmmmmm OK.

I have been across numerous times since then, and I have always had to have picture ID. Until recently it had to be a passport (since 911) Everyone I have went with has had to show ID.

Everyone I know (I am Canadian) has had to show ID. Going and coming back.
