I still serve my daughter good old Bird's Eye fish fingers! You can actually buy them with 100% cod. When I was a kid my family somehow, even though not Catholic, had fish on fridays too. My daughter loves fish finger butties!! I have to refrain from giving her Heinz Ketchup on them though as she his like her mother and goes all hyper!!!

I had no idea Safe Ways was still going!! I think Tesco, Morrison's, Asda, Iceland, Somerfield's are the big ones in this country. I do remember Safeways though years ago.

And what about 'grits' as well..........And you yanks wonder why you have an obesity problem in your country!!!lol

                  Luv,

Nothing dead about the south, girl!!

Love my grits!! Carbs, butter, salt. Yummm.

and then of course for the leftover grits, patty 'em up and fry 'em in butter.

No wonder we are all fat.

                      happy birthday

I first heard about 'grits' in the movie "My Cousin Vinny" starring Joe Pesci.

This clip doesn't really explain what exactly they are but still funny anyway. 4.00minutes onwards is the bit on grits if you want to skip to it.!!

Grits are very similar to polenta but more white in color instead of yellow. Grits caserole with garlic cheese is yummy.

Grits are small broken grains of corn. They were first produced by Native Americans centuries ago. They made both "corn" grits and "hominy" grits. Falls Mill produces "corn" grits.
