    greenie, I'm laughing too hard to type:H:H:H:H So close to the truth.
    So, we have 2 plots here and the orchard. Everything as afore mentioned except the melons. The nights are just too cool to get them sweet. This year, trying for corn once again. The birds are busy eating the cherries, the bear is sucking up and tossing all the fish emulsion gallons and the dog is keeping the racoons away. I'm just waiting for something large to discover the brandnew chicken coop. All this and the gov has just declared California to be in a drought year. We're already experiencing lower water levels in the river and from the spring boxes. It's worrisome. Oh, the rhodies were spectacular this year. xxx g.

                  What have you planted in your garden?

                  Well just today I finished out in my flower bed. I have different types of annuals, marrigolds, petunias, a bleeding bush (new to me) then there are the hostas and impatients, some dog wood, little juniper bushes and a Korean Lilac bush (miniature that you prune) I also have a couple hanging baskets out on the front porch.
                  As for veggies, we do peaches and cream corn, green and yellow beans, romaine lettuce, carrots for the horses, 3 different types of tomates ( 1 of each) onions, 2 long rows of potatoes (teen-age boys eat alot !) rhubarb, raspberries, and a row of sweet edible pod peas... my dessert alot of nights
                  I spent almost half of my day outdoors with my hands in the dirt and it just makes me sooo at peace

                      What have you planted in your garden?

                      This year I have planted a smaller garden than usual....and we have had a TON of rain, so hopefully everything is still going to be as fruitful as usual. In my garden I have:
                      Rhubarb
                      Tomatoes, 3 kinds including yellow pear (YUM)!
                      Bell peppers
                      Hot peppers, 3 kinds
                      Broccoli
                      Radishes
                      Cucumbers
                      Yellow Squash
                      Zuccini
                      Eggplant
                      Kholrabi
                      Onions
                      and probably something else I am forgetting at the moment.

                      I want to learn to can better...I have canned a few things, but it still intimidates me if anyone has any tips and tricks that would be appreciated!

                          What have you planted in your garden?

                          Marigolds, Daliah's and Elephant Ears (palm like plants). Tomatoes, Cucumbers and Peppers. I enjoy gardening.

                            hmmmm....I have definate garden envy here...our season here is SO short....but, that being said, I have potatoes, peas, zucchini, a few different types of lettuce, radishes...uhhhmmm...have a cherry tree, blackberries, and strawberries...chives, and basil....wish I had more....need a cold frame, I think...maybe next year!
