Wow, Bingo! The 5:00 descent into oblivion. Or rather than spending time before bed with the kids, pretend to stay downstairs to do the dishes . While what your really doing is sitting at the kitchen table, alone finishing off a bottle (usually not your first).

Just reading back through this thread and I hit upon this post- that's me, on both counts!!!!

Here's a new one- a couple of years back, my wife had a problem with a weird cold virus that wiped out her sense of smell for a couple of weeks. The majority of my brain though "poor wife". But a larger % of my brain than I would like to admit thought "Hey! I can drink booze whenever I want and my wife won't cotton on!"

When I quit drinking on the 21st I plan to read this thread every time that I need to. I plan to do a thirty day first so that I will have something to concentrate on for the first thirty days. I don't want to go down this road and even though I am doing pretty good in Modding, I rather quit now while I don't have that many stupid stories to tell.

The nearly peeing in the trashcan was my first every getting drunk experience, back then it was a every now and then thing, which didn't last long. First time total idiot me bought 2 bottles of champaign (I started drinking champain and it moved to wine, then winecoolers, then beer with the occiasional mixed drink. The first night getting drunk wasn't the first time getting drunk, I drank since New Years Eve 2008 (first al drink was at 11pm) but those times, I didn't drink enough to get drunk. This time I bought 2 bottles one 9.0 and the other 10.0 thinking that I would drink 1 bottle now and the 2 at another time. Ended up having nearly 1 and a half bottles and throwing up a little so I stopped. I had trouble getting up the stairs. I had to tell myself step step step (and said it out loud but not that loud). I nearly convinced myself to pee in the trash can. The next day I was so hungover that I missed church. The second story is that I got drunk off beginners beer (Bud Ice I considered that beginners beer because that is what it was made for) and then I had one of my brother's wine coolers (with permission, he rarely drinks and didn't like the flavor and neither do I but hey it was alcohol and I wanted another drink and when that was the only drink left, you tend to drink it) and while I was chatting in stick cam and using my mom's webcam my drink spilled a little and not wanting to get a wash cloth and figuring that I was going to stay home so who cares if I dirty up my shirt, I took my shirt off and cleaned it, while I was putting my shirt back on, I remembered shit I am on a freaking webcam and apologized. Luckily I was in a room of understanding people.I felt so embarrassed and stupid. Wore the shirt till morning and changed it. So glad that those days are over.
