Black Raspberries...

I just went and picked some on my property...

It is only the tip of the iceberg, as it were.

Arms are "picked" and so are legs. Okay, hubby said "go get some sweats and a long sleeved t-shirt." LOL

It is 80+ degrees out there.

However, the raspberries are worth it.

OMG. I love living here. I have blueberries waiting to be picked, too.

Black Raspberries...

I am soooo jealous. We are growing raspberries and blueberries but do not seem to have the right climate. Last year we got eight whole raspberries and the blueberries never turned blue! Enjoy, enjoy!

Wow how much fun is that? I'm not a big berry fan myslef but my husband loves blackberries sooo-. We went blackberry picking and I discovered that chiggers just love me!

I was covered from the waist down with chiggers. We got home with all these berries but I was so itchy and burnie, there was no way I could do anything with them. Out came the chigaraide, I stip off my jeans hubby is dabbing and laughing his ass off.

New rule, if I don't like it, I won't pick it. You pick it bring it to me and I will make you the most wonderful jam, jelly, preserve, cobbler in the world, but I am no longer willing to be dinner for chiggers picking a berry I don't even like.

Yummy! Cindi!! Berries are one of my favorite things!! As you know, they do not grow well here....darn!
My favorite way to eat berries, is just as they are, washed and in a bowl!! Or, with wipped cream and lady fingers!!

Rob, LOL. you don't pick berries unless you have "eau de'deet on." Big grin. Been there done that. Like you, covered in chigger bites. Ummm, no, covered in chiggers that burrow into your skin and make you completey miserable.

Kate, I know what you mean. However, I grew the most awesome strawberries out there. Kids, kids's friends, hubby, everyone within miles around, came to pick them. Just plant one plant and you are done, it takes over.

we have a huge strawberry field up from my house, me and the kids love to go pick them. we have to watch zak...he picks any ol' thing.....he puts rotten one in, i take it out and replace it with a good one when he isnt looking....ha ha

Hah, hah,

I have lots of berries for Zack. Big time. Huckleberries, blueberries, black raspberries.

Hubby is "mowing" today. He is on his tractor doing the right thing. My yard is overgrown, but my berries are awesome. He is mowing around then.

I love my hubby. He loves the berries. OMG. They are so awesome.

LOL, oh there are plenty of good ones for Zak to pick, he just seems to like the ol' rotten ones. He also eats along the way....seems he can pick good ones for tasting though. He LOVES LOVES berries. Kid is a trip.
