Non-alcohol Wines
I have tried many AF wines and they all taste gross to me. On top of that I drink Pinot Grigio, which I have yet to even find AF. I do like grape juice, both red and white, tastes so much better than AF wine and I like to pour it into a beautiful wine glass, it makes me feel better....part of my comforting ritual, I guess.Patience has its limits. Take it too far, and it's cowardice.

Non-alcohol Wines
Hi SunDaisy,
Funny you should bring this topic up as I was just thinking about it last night.
I tried AF wine before and didn't like it but yesterday I bought two - a red (merlot) and a rose (white zinfandel) called 'Fre' produced in California. I tried both and actually thought they were ok. I warmed the red and had a glass with my dinner and it did actually taste like wine, maybe as I was having spicy food too. I then chilled the rose and had a couple of glasses watching a film later. It was nice but you would not think it was wine.I think a lot for me is just the ritual so I must say it worked for me last night. Must try the white.
I would love to hear from others about different brands of AF wine or beer they have tried as I am on the AF wagon for good from now on. I think we are pretty limited here in Ireland as to what AF stuff is on offer so would be good to hear any other ideas?

I, too have tried the AF wines. I find that all the AF beer and wine taste too sweet. What I have done is add a lime to the domestic ones (Sharps or O'Douls)or the german beers, or lemon to some of the others. With the AF wines, I have added some plain selter water to cut the sweetness. I agree it is mainly the comfort ritual for me, as well. The opening of the bottle, the pouring and a nice wine glass and sipping. I have found the best tasting to be the FRE chardonnay and ARIEL Cabernet Sauvignon. I didn't have to add seltzer to the cabernet. I have also put a little lemon in the chardonnay to cut the sweetness. I am to the point of drinking Iced tea. LOL But, it is still nice to know they are out there.
