Hello all. As some of you know my daughter is pregnant with my first grandchild. We found out last week it's a girl and her name will be Vivian Grace.
Sonograms done ooh'd and aah'd, now the results of their genetic testing have come in and they are both carriers of Cystic Fibrosis which means there is a 1 in 4 chance that this little girl will be affected.
She has known since Tuesday, but couldn't tell me because she is so emotional. Anything I wanted to say and did say seemed so inadequate. She had an amnio done Friday and hopefully this will tell us a little more. She is only 12 weeks, so it will be an anxiety-filled pregnancy if the amnio doesn't produce some positive results.
Darn those two kids were over the moon studying fetus growth every night, and of course they will still do that but in a more somber tone.
