    Thank you

    Thank you all, to those who were here and posted right away. I sat here reading the posts and crying, but feeling so much better. God, this internet is a wonderful thing--I feel I have no one in my personal life I can talk to, but I can come here and get support. Thank you.:thanks:

      YOU KNOW THAT IS NOT TRUE! (that they would be better off without you)... My (now ex) mother-in-law used to feel the same way (my parents lived closer, had more money etc.) and that she was not needed by my kids. I finally explained to her - and now to you- that all grandchildren need and want is your love and time!! Both are freebies. Kids love to play board games, watch movies, play Hangman etc... Much more than "things".

      We know each other pretty well now. You know I am the same as you and can def relate to having depression and lonliness be a trigger for me. You are not alone. We are going to conquer this challenge together. And everything will feel better. I promise...

        August- Come One, Come All

        Well, August is only half over. The past week was not successful for me, but I'm ready to make the second half of August AF. Yesterday was really hard - my sister is mentally ill, has been for a few years. But recently she has gone way downhill. It is indescribably sad to even look at her. All drinking excuses are bad, but this is mine at the moment.
        My life is better without alcohol, since 9/1/12. My sobriety tool is the list at permalink 236 on the toolbox thread under monthly abstinance.

          That is beautiful Spirit Girl~

          This is akin to being in house of mirrors at the carnival, where as our reflection is distorted and misleading as we are viewed from many angles.(almost typed angels
          I must say, some of the most beautiful souls I have met, have been right here and the number of days without "it" in the cells, has nothing to do with that reality.

          I felt closed in at times, because I could not get past day 3, often due to the withdrawl symptoms, plus, I felt so naked, so exposed and even more unlovable because the shame would surface.

          It is an "ill"usion that any one of us are less than because of this difficulty and the suffering/misery it can bring when "it" fools our true identities that we are "more" when it is pumped into our veins.
          We are much, we are a myriad of colors, hearts full , brightness expressed from all over this planet.
          As I have felt before, this is "our way out", as well as Our Way In. It is here that we enter into the heart of matters at hand.

          A day is a sacred, in my vision, as a thousand days free of "it" and its lies.
          I count 9 days of clarity , for myself. 5 days under the covers. Yet, is the calendar half empty or half full? If I go back and read the posts from a week, or a day ago where I stand, am I behind, or ahead?
          It is all interpretive, I so believe. I prefer to lean into the light, stay away from the shadows as best as I am capable with what I know and how well I apply it.

          ALways, here, in YOUR presence I am home.

          I wonder~ Who's hands are more beautiful: Mother Teresa's or Angelina Jolies?


          I recall a favorite relative was the poorest Aunt, as she just spilled out so much Love and as a little girl, already feeling different, I rested in her presence.

          Often my family is having these gatherings that are lush and luxurious and I will decline as I prefer to be here, amongst the magnificence, kindness, wisdom and assurance.
          You are a treasure chest of wealth in knowledge. The answers are loving us right before our eyes.

            Thanks everyone

            This penguin is back on her feet. Did one day AF today, and am putting myself in a position where I won't be tempted all weekend. I am MAD at this thing called alcohol now, and I'm going to kick it's butt. I hope everyone has a successful weekend.

                    Thanks for the Hi, Dee Bee.

                    I am freaking out the last 2 days -- I have a job interview on Tues., but it's in another city -- almost 3 hours away! How can I do this and raise a 2 year old? We can't really relocate the family right now. I am just spinning.

                    Was AF all week, hubby too, till last night. Will jump back on board tomorrow I think. Yeesh.

                          Hi all,
                          Last week wasn't good, but now I have 3 consecutive days AF under my belt. This morning I gave away my last bottle of wine, to a friend with whom I had intended to share it. My August AF total won't be bad. And September will be AF, and October and November...
