Penguin: The Power of Team
The flightless fairy penguin of Australia stands less than a foot tall and is clumsy on land, where the fox is its natural enemy. Alone, one penguin wouldn't survive for long. Excitement

If anyone is bored with their AF time, you could try luring a skunk into your garage. We accidentally did that with our garbage on Thurs eve, and it chewed into my bird seed which I keep in those nice Folger's coffee cans. The trash was picked up Friday, and I cleaned up the seed, but the skunk is still there, we discovered today. My husband saw it leave Fri am when he put the trash at the curb - we didn't know it came back in. But the garage still smelled funky, I was moving things around, and there it was! Boy, did I scream and run! So now 2 of three garage doors are closed, with amonia in a Rubbermaid bin and the lawnmoweer running in the garage. An internet post said they don't like strong smells, so we are trying this...

Late afternoon of August 2, we got penguins and Mac people coming out of the woodwork... and skunks! It is HOT HOT HOT here in midwest USA, I went and did numerous errands with NO a/c on because I am really enjoying sweating right now, I think there are still toxins that need to get sweated out. It feels good somehow... so different from how it feels to be in the heat when I've been drinking...

Got my music sucked off my iPod into my PC... but now to get it all onto my Mac??? I haven't really thought this through. Seems that if the iPod was set up on a PC, then the Mac machines won't make friends with it as easily... And then there is the question of how to get all my documents so that they are use-able on both kinds of machines... hmm.

Sunbeam, that sooooooooo stinks!!!!:H I really feel bad for you. I remember when out dog got sprayed by a skunk; it was the worst!!! Good luck. I hope you get rid of that stink bomb!!

being strong even when the pain is just not going away... Good for you... You know that alcohol could only make it worse, and you know that you don't really want that... and that your daughter is learning from your response to her meanness, how a mature adult responds...

I totally understand. I fell flat on my face yesterday, the 1st day out of the starting gate. Then hubby and I are having not exactly a fight, but a "discussion" about money and our financial quagmire. Lots of pain and fear, which was exacerbated by my failure yesterday. But I am AF tonight (hubby is drinking) and going to go crawl under the sheets soon. I know how hard it is. I am thre with you. I just felt like I was in a bad mood all evening, but I am looking forward to waking up clear headed tomorrow.

Jump in the center of the penguin pack, Noelle... We've got you covered... And CS, the good thing about being part of a pack is that there are plenty of us to scoop you back up if you fall... Glad you were motivated today...

My day at the pool was successful... But I have to admit, I was very tempted... So I decided to leave a little early as the temptation crept in...I went grocery shopping... Keeta, what is it about grocery shopping that does that to us??? I don't shop nearly as big as you do and by the time I checked out, hauled it into the car, then out of the car when I got home, put the food away (which always involves cleaning out the fridge) and sat down - I DESPERATELY craved a glass of wine... I felt like I "earned" it... Like AL is a reward!! What a twisted way of thinking for me!! I "earned" a hangover - I "earned" a guilt ridden day tomorrow... Some trophy... Anyhoo - I didn't cash in on my prize... I took a bath and now I am checking in with my fellow penguins!!

I have to admit - I am so exctied that you all enjoyed the penguin story and adopted it. I hesitated to share it, as I wasn't sure if you all would like it! Glad I did.....

Nurse, hope your camping weekend continued to go well! Check in again tomorrow..
