I did a student debate, in 7th grade, and I lost.

The next student didn't do a debate, but did a speech on David Bowie. He quoted lyrics, and among them this song, which I never heard to this day.

And on this day, since I now know Bowie through Moulin Rouge and about 30 years of history, I'm totally floored how he captured the future. Our coldness, our ambivalence to truth, and our angst for fantasy, not to mention the gay thing.

I hated that puissant from 25 years ago, who talked about Bowie and won the day.

With this post I humbly apologize, and wonder what wisdom Bowie has given us, from the time of your video to Moulin Rouge and beyond.
