Great to hear you and Mrs Macks are getting really well.
Yep, most of the old timers are still here....come back whenever you can.
We may just be able to get your unit count down a bit if you stick around.
          Big hugs

                  Hello from an old timer!!

                  Hi again..

I feel like the scarlet pimpernel...The dislexic version..

Had quite a bit again today...Started drinking 2 hrs after waking up..Proberly nerves...Proberly alcaholism...Proberly a mixture of everything...

Thanks for the comments...Its amazing to turn up after so long and...Well....get a big hug really..

Nancy Thanks...I think of lots of people here on a regular basis...Lisa just saw your comment and gave me knowing smile...

What i tried to say last night was (but got carried away and forgot) is my NEW gp has agreed to come out to me every night with librium and antibuse....He is such a cool chap....Younger than me...But has pics of him in his practice climbing k2 and shit like that...Always shakes my hand and treats me like everyone else...Just dread talking to him on the phone lol..

hope to be back soon with friends here being a mentor rather than bobbing in unannouced every few months....I want to be back...but not in the state im in now...I know its gonna take a while...Like i said...at the mo i am so unreliable to everbody...especially my own...

Thanks for the hug ...I needed that very much....It makes me feel stronger and more confident.....But not on the phone...LOL..

                  Thanks again..XXX

                    Hello from an old timer!!

                    Hi Mackeral,

I'm kind of new here, night three of cutting down significantly, so I don't know you... How old is your youngest? My daughter was diagnosed with Pervasive Developmental Disorder at about 21 months (this is on the autistic spectrum). We got her lots and lots of intervention-speech therapy, occupational therapy, special teachers at home, and then a special inclusion program when she turned 2.5. Now she is 11 and in a regular school, in fact a pretty demanding private school here in NY. You would never, ever know she had had any problems! So take heart, get all the help you can and your child will surely make lots of progress! You and your wife will do all the right things, I just know it!

If you ever want to talk about it, send me a PM!

All the best to you and your family. Acadia of Maine

                      Hello from an old timer!!

Callum was 3 last month...He had speech at 1 year...10 words maybe...He got to 14 mnts and hasnt spoke since..There are lots of different things he does to our other 4 kids...For example if he touches wet sand...hes phisically sick...If he wants something he will only grab my wedding finger, lead me to the kitchen, walk off and leave me stood there guessing what he wants or needs...He sleeps for 2 hrs a night..He is obsessed with lazy town...He will take what he wants...we were sat in the hospital waiting room 2 or 3 nights ago..and another child had a lolly....I knew what was coming and scooped him up and ran to the shop before world war 3 and the apocolipse started..

I will take heart from what you said..and will most likley pm you when i am more sober...And i wish you the best with your daughter...she sounds like she is gonna make you very proud......XX

                        Hello from an old timer!!

Hey Mackeral, glad you stopped by. I'm sorry to hear about your son but at least he got diagnosed young. I work with kids with autism. They can make so much progress quickly when young. Sorry you are struggling with the booze again. How is your nephew?

                          Hello from an old timer!!

Wow, Mackeral, my daughter's name is Callie! Too coincidental. She never really spoke, maybe a few words, which she lost. No eye contact, no connection to people, the whole works. I'd be happy to PM or give you my email address. I know the pain of this, it was really hard for me to deal with, but things did get better!

Anyway, take care of YOURSELF, my friend. You will need to be there for him and the rest of your family. They need you and love you!

                          Hugs to you.

                            Hello from an old timer!!

Oh Macks, it is more than wonderful to see you here. I'm so happy that you and your GP have a plan in the works.

I'm so sorry about your son, but there are a number of people here who know a great deal about ASD. Acadia sounds like a terrific resource.

I look forward to your being back on a more permanent basis, lil bro. Give Mrs. Macks a kiss for me.

                            Extra love and hugs:l:l
