I have said before, I am really not an extremely political person. But what I have followed by living here I know she has really done right by us. I know some of the wealth the state has seen from oil will soon be in my bank account. Did you hear the part where she put the plane on ebay? Priceless!!!! She is definitely a go getter.

I liked her because she is feisty, I just didn't like that most of the speech was attacking everyone and their dog. Pretty ballsy to attack the media and "good ole' boys'. It'll be interesting to see how it pans out. I can see why people like her, but she may be burning bridges.
Now that I have seen her, I really wish that Clinton had won the nomination; that would be one hell of a cat fight!!!!!!!!!

Well, I am in agreement with what Lushy has said. She said nothing about the current situations that are destroying our country and our lifestyle. She offered no "real" salutions to any of the current problems created by Republican George Bush. None. She used wit, humor and immature sarcasim, not at all appealing to me!!

One more thing....lets talk about Taxes. Obama said he will not raise the taxes of the middle class. But he will raise taxes on Big Business by removing loopholes, and he will raise taxes on the top 5% of the country. All those that Bush has favored. Bush has created the largest financial deficite in the history of this country. Who do the Republicans think will pay the bill? Like Bush, they seem to make it sound like this bill can simply be ignored!

The other thing is that Palin spoke of Victory in Iraq begin close at hand?????? McCain has said he is willing to stay there for the next 100 years in order to secure victory. This speach was nothing but smoke and mirrors veiled in sarcasm.

First of all President Bush and Sen. Mcain have very little in common ... show me one time Bush "served" our country before becoming Gov. His PARTY is the common thread - not his person. This race is going to get more than just interesting. If I want socialistic communism - I'd vote for Obama OR move to China. Obama is seriously scary. A wolf in sheeps clothing. Smoke and mirrors. I hope people look long and hard at where this country is headed if he becomes our president.

Sarah's guts are just what we need to shake down the power brokers in DC. I think she changes EVERYTHING for John Mcain.

When politicians are running for the Presidency I do not want to see them on Leno, Letterman or any of these fluffy talk shows. How many crackers you can stuff in your mouth and whistle does not impress me.

I have hesitated to post here because I was told not to talk politics with friends!!

However, I have to weigh in a bit.

Last Presidential election, I wrote in "None of the Above." My husband was furious and said I threw away my vote. Which I did because it would not count.

However, there were many local elections I did want to be heard in.

I agree, Det, with the "None of the Above" choice. It would mean a do over but it would also send a resounding message to the parties that we are completely dissatisfied.

As for this election. I am undecided. I tend to vote conservative but have been completely disenchanted with the Neo Cons in power. Let's see, huge debt and a war that was started only after double digit Generals resigned because they would not support it. Oh, and Bin Laden is still alive!!!!

However, because of our actions in Iraq, I believe it would be completely unethical for us to withdraw from there before stability is maintainable by the Iraqi government. Enough Iraqi citizens have died from this war, we certainly don't want to withdraw and see more innocent blood slaughtered due to a civil war there. That blood would be on our hands.

Today, we face a future where we MUST find a way to become competitive with other nations despite our higher living costs, we MUST end our dependence on foreign oil (Pickens is so right), we MUST find a way to deal with the spiraling costs of medical care (not going there guys, too many ways to skin this cat and a lot of them end up in a horrible situation, we need some brilliant minds to figure this out) and we MUST continue to work on improving education for all people in this country, thereby creating a nation of educated and employable people.

Other than that, I think they should pass a bill in Congress that insures I personally have access to all the money I could ever want. (Just thought I would add that as a Ryder.)

Simply put, I watched Sarah Palin's speech with an open mind -- a mind set to not like her. I was skeptical.

I have never in my life been interested in politics (my husband has an obsessive interest, so I just leave it to him).

I have researched ahead, asked a lot of questions... still skeptical. But you know... I really like her!

All the women who say that a man can never do a woman's job... now the liberal women are saying she cannot do a man's job because she has five kids? HELLO... I'm sure she has a wonderful nanny and probably pays her quite well since she sold the Governer's plane on Ebay and discontinued a personal chef. Maybe, just maybe, she is doing a great job as a Mom and as a Governor.
