I would love to fight for my tax dollars back! Especially with the squander of the last eight years. I cannot think of one good thing, not one, that the current administration has done for the American people!

Cindi, I so agree about Medical people managing patient care. And Educators managing education! A great example is the hospital where Dave works. The CEO is an MD and also has an MBA. She is a Woman!! She has brought this hospital out of the red, while greatly improving patient care. This is also the "indigent hospital" for this area.....which makes this accomplishment truly amazing!

There are answers, good answers, the way that I see it, the biggest obsticals in both the areas of Education and Healthcare is Greed and Human Ego.

btw the AMA (American Medical Association) is not run by doctors either, but by a panel of lawyers. sign of the times I guess.
at any rate I guess it doesn't matter terribly to me personally in the health care world as i don't pay for insurance now anyway.
if a socialized or semi-socialized program is implemented I can once again befriend a doctor or two and pay under the table if they
are willing to assist me. I'll just have to be a rat in the machine.

Red, you may personally love Sarah Palin, but I have heard numerous interviews as well as articles written by some Alaskans that think quite to the contrary. But you certainly have a right to your opinion!

Red, not all Alaskans feel as you do sorry to say. I just got off the phone with my brother who lives in Anchorage and he and his family are not happy with her AT ALL. Yes, we are entitled to our own opinions and come November we will see what happens. I can tell you I am very scared for the future of our country as many of us should be.

I'll take the constitutional law professor.

I'm a conservative, and big believer in the US and the US Constitution as our founding fathers intended.

I think anyone who has spent a lifetime studying, upholding and teaching about the US Constitution is probably a good choice for President of the country where people are expecting to live according to the rights of the US Constitution.

Sorry Det. I'm 47 years old, us Citizen (5 generations) and as a business owner pay more than $200k taxes per year to the federal government. Yet for all of that, I'm still fighting for my own equal rights, and civil rights here in my own country.

You called me out earlier in this thread. I'm just doing you some payback. I'm a real person and not a sap. And when you honor me with acknowledging that I deserve equal rights, I'll stop calling you out.

I can't imagine anyone can compare a Harvard law professor, and law school teacher on the subject of US Constitutional law for 11 years, against a serial philandering pilot who flunked college and crashed six planes at taxpayer expense.

I keep seeing articles like this. The gist is that "Palin as a reformer" replaced the old crooks with her own family and friends, but didn't actually change the system.

I'd be curious as to what AKGirl and the other Alaskans can give us all as perspective.

What I'm most annoyed by Det, is your constant name calling. "Socialism", "Stalin".

Are you capable of actually doing dialog on the true issues, without simply giving a label, and then attacking the label (which you introduced in the first place)?

Is it possible to discuss our fears and hopes without resorting to labels and smears?
