Ditto Nancy!
Det in all seriousness - this has been a story that is gaining facts weekly -- I read this about a month ago ...
"On June 29th, 2008, the Associated Press released a story of a bizarre experiment that may now be taking place in Meyrin, Switzerland. The largest atom-smasher ever built was to be switched on in August 2008. It will be ramped up to full capacity over a period of several months. This atomic collider cost 5.8 billion dollars to construct and is being called the largest scientific experiment in the history of the world. It is seven times more powerful than the Fermilab in Chicago, Illinois. The massive device is located 330 feet underground and is 17 miles in circumference. The device is being used to search for ?dark energy? and additional dimensions. Some physicists believe that the device could create a black hole that would engulf the earth or change the earth in other ways forever. Dr. Walter L. Wagner, a physicist, said that a safety report regarding the device has several major flaws, and he is frantically trying to stop the project. He filed a lawsuit to halt the activation of the device, but his warnings have been rejected by the U.S. Government. On June 24th, 2008, the U.S. Justice Department lawyers, representing the Department of Energy and the National Science Foundation, filed a motion to dismiss the case. (34) What kind of reaction will this device bring to the delicate balance that keeps the earth in place?"
Strange times we are living in. Strange indeed!
Also loved the burning man photos and info!! Great event!!AF since Jan. 1, 2008 .... It all began right here
