The good local beach by me is Formby, there's also a red squirrel reserve. Don't really count Southport and Blackpool as good beaches.

Good morning all! Good luck Gia! Give us your weigh-in OneTwo! Cindi what's up with your eye? Good going on the fabulous golfing cym! Glad you are feeling better vlads! StartingO, I was feeling not-so-good most of yesterday. Not so much sad, but really irritable. Being without alcohol makes the ordinary fluctuations of mood MUCH more noticeable because they are not masked by (a) intoxication and (b) hangover. For me anyhow, nearly all of every day I was one or the other. Alcoholics are notoriously overly sensitive to mood shifts, because we are not accustomed to letting them just "be," without fixing them with alcohol. Sounds funny to say, but the best advice is this: when you are "down," don't let THAT get you even further "down."
Last night I went out to the airport to pick up a friend who was coming home from Spain, amazing to be out in the world at night, driving, totally sober! Her plane was late, didn't get in till 11:30 pm, and of course I was trying to find a way to just drive up and pick her up and baggage claim without parking in the feckin' garage, ended up getting a ticket, nearly in an argument with the ticket-giver, a large humorless individual who lectured me about parking and rules and security, and then told me to adjust my attitude when I did not thank her for all that! And I wasn't even rude to her, just a very small bit of grumbling (you dare not say much of anything to any kind of official at an airport here, regardless of their job, so far as I know the damn parking people can fling you in jail if they so desire!!!!). Anyhow my friend got here OK, poor thing had been up for 24 hours, and she bought me a little porcelain bull from Barcelona painted in the style of a famous architect... very pretty.... Marbella, who is that architect that did some famous cathedral with animals in the stonework?????
Off to work on arrangements for Mother.... oh gawd this is going to be a bloodbath when/if we tell her she is not going home but to another "facility"!!!
Good day, all!

Will try to check in later....

Take My yoke upon you and learn from me for I am gentle and lowly in heart and you will find rest for your souls.
