    September 11th, where were you?

how many years is it now, 6 I think . I will never forget that day as long as I live . I was pregnant with Alex and turned on sky news to check the time . First plane went into the building and I saw the second one happening , what horror! Was glued to the tv all day . The firefighters were true heros and mayor Rudy too. What were you all doing on sep 11th?

    September 11th, where were you?

I was at home.... hubby called from the office to tell me to turn on the TV. Sat there glued to it for hours in disbelief. It's also my hubby's birthday ... so that was a very difficult one to try and celebrate! To say the least, it was a very sombre birthday for him, and something we reflect on each year.

        September 11th, where were you?

It was 7 this year. I was working in one of my folks places, and when the first plane went in, the whole restaurant left there food and huddled into the kitchen to watch it on a small t.v. When the dust had settled, everone paid there bill without eating anymore and left. Was really surreal, all these plates full of food and no customers.
I also remeber when princess Di died. In one of there places they had rooms, and sun morning was always really busy with families coming away for the weekend. No one came down for brekfast that morning. Really mad, but ill never forget either.

7 years sadly. I was home asleep and got a very early call from my mother. Living in Alaska we are the last to "wake up". Watched in disbelief all day. My birthday is the

                September 11th, where were you?

I had broken up with my son's father and was round at my mum's house crying and whinging about him, when all of a sudden, my dad phoned my mum and told her to switch onto the news.
We saw the first tower burning, and then saw the second plane going in as it happened.
It was horrendous... but in an extremely selfish way (alcoholics can be SO self-centred at times) it took my mind of my break-up with my kid's father.

                  September 11th, where were you?

I watched it all unfold on TV after the first plane hit.
I was on holiday from work. My boss was in Mexico and gave us two weeks off.
It was almost surreal. I almost couldn't believe what I was seeing.
My son was on holiday in Spain and I remember being very worried about him.
It was almost as if the whole world stopped in disbelief, and when the first tower fell, I was just completely stunned.
                  I couild not believe it.
The New Yorkers who helped out were amazing.
                  A terrible day.

                    September 11th, where were you?

I was in Iowa on business, stuck there for 3 days, unable to fly home, in my motel room, glued to the TV. Very disoriented. Got lost in a parking lot, unable to find my rental car, no idea where I had parked it or what it looked like. A man finally noticed me wandering around, and helped me find it.

We had no idea what would be next, but we knew it would not be good. While endlessly listening to the news/commentary, I remember taking some notes, writing down a phrase I had never heard before: "al Qaida?" I had no idea what that phrase meant, and wanted to look it up.

God help us all, in all the suffering we endure, and in all the suffering we create.

                      September 11th, where were you?

I was in Disney World. I was with my hubby and (at that time) two small kids. We were leaving the hotel room and saw the first plane hit and thought it was an accident and left. Five minutes later we were at the park and it was deserted..noone. My FIL called us on the cell phone and told us to get out of the park that we were under "terrorists attack!" My FIL was in the Bay of Pigs and jailed by Castro for two years so everything with him is a conspiracy theory. We thought he was crazy. Moments later Disney security came out all over the place and escorted everyone out so they could "sweep for bombs". We spent the next two days in our hotel glued to the TV in disbelief.

It sounds cheezy but, where else to feel so "safe" but Disney
Sometimes I wonder...."Why is that frisbee getting bigger?"...and then it hits me.

                        September 11th, where were you?

I was getting ready to leave for work and saw the footage of the first plane hit the tower. Thought it was an accident. On the radio on the way to work, heard the rest of what went on. I remember it didn't seem real what was happening. I also remember being afraid of what could happen next.
Watching Fox news this morning it still amazes me that more lives were not lost.

I was in Arizona so it was very early. My (then) husband woke me up to show me the TV. I was groggy, couldn't believe it, it took a while to sink in. My mom was in D.C. visiting my brother, scheduled to fly out that day on United, and my poor sister, 9 months pregnant, thought at first my mom was on one of those planes ... the phone lines were tied up for hours. Nightmarish .... I cried all day. I prayed that the tragedy could help Americans finally come together.

I have this posted on another thread....wanted to share with all!

I Love the "Where were we" sharings and wanted to share mine....They help!

Took kids to school, going on field trip to park with youngest one...he would of been 7 years old at the time. We were leaving on the bus and a Mom had mentioned the first plane.....we go on field trip. We come back early from field trip, something going on they said..... Hubby called, he was suppose to be on a flight to Chicago that day; meeting cancelled. Daughter in lock down at school....

I won't say where I lived at the time but son and I got home, very loud noise, looked out side..... Six fighter jets around Air Force One where flying low over head! The President was coming to a "safe zone". It was something to see, will never forget, very emotional!

                              That is where I was.

God Bless America and Thank you to all that helped and saved many lives that fateful Day! Prayer Said for all....

(wish I was computer smart....I love the Toby Keith song "Do you remember".......

Edit added -- may not be Toby Keith's song...I just went through my I-tunes and can't find the one I am singing in my head and heart. Sorry!)
